CHARLOTTE JACKSON

Charlotte Ann Jackson, 71, of the New Salem community passed away Thursday, March 7, 2024.

Charlotte was born March 10, 1952, in Chattanooga, Tenn., and had called the north Georgia area her home throughout her life. She held a special place in her heart for her son Brent and treasured their long conversations over the phone. Additionally, she loved her church family at New Salem Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, K.C. Marie Jackson; parents, Neil and Marie Boatner Adkins; and sister, Janet Adkins.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Ray Jackson; son, Ray Brent Jackson; brothers, Timothy Adkins and Neal Adkins; extended family members.

A memorial service to celebrate Charlotte’s life was March 10 at New Salem Baptist Church with Brother Jim Hixon presiding.

STARLA POWELL

Starla Gay Powell, 59, of Rising Fawn, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2024.

Starla was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister who will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love and kindness she shared with those around her. She dedicated many years of service to Arcade Beauty in Chattanooga, Tenn., during her professional career and was an avid Tennessee fan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Gene Powell; parents, Billy Frost Jr., and Linda Smith Miller.

Survivors include her children, Brandon Powell and Shalina (Chay) Price; siblings, Cricket Miller and Billy Frost; extended family members.

Starla will be laid to rest at Hanna Cemetery in Rising Fawn during a private family service.

GRADY SPENCER

Henry Grady Spencer, 81 of Trenton, passed away Friday, March 8, 2024.

Born April 16, 1942, to the late Henry and Pauline Hawkins Spencer, Grady loved working on the farm alongside his horses and mules. He found joy in collecting carriages and dedicated over 46 years of service to the Dade County Road and Sanitation departments.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Blevins.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Maureen Spencer; son, Henry (Megan) Spencer; daughter, Penny Tapley; sister, Ruby Paine; grandchildren, Lashae, Crystal, Lee, Ethan, Chase, Skylar, Levi, Dillon, and Shelby; great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Russell, Anzlee, Remington, Paisley, Zachary, Nova, Eleanor, Lil Dillon, Bryson, Jagger, and Arya.

Funeral services were Monday, March 11, in the Trenton chapel of Moore Funeral Home. Interment was at the Sulphur Springs Cemetery.

DOYLE STONE

Doyle Stone, age 86, of Trenton, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2024.

In 1955, Doyle married the love of his life, JoAnn, and they shared nearly 70 beautiful years together. They were avid travelers who enjoyed exploring new roads and making memories along the way. Doyle was a beloved member of the community who loved to drink coffee with his friends, enjoyed NASCAR races and singing karaoke. He was the owner of Stone Trucking, providing services to poultry houses across the tri-state region.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Una Belle Daniel Stone.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Clark Stone; daughter, Debra (Bob) Stone McNab; sons, Randy Stone and Chris (Cindy) Stone; brother, Ernest (Jane) Stone Jr.; grandson, August McNab; step-granddaughters, Andrea (Jim) Clark and Kristin (Tyler) Martin; step-great-grandchildren, Anna Kate Clark, Jim Douglas Clark, John Wesley Martin, and Sissy Martin; nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Funeral services were Friday, March 8, in the Trenton chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Eddie Cantrell officiating. Interment was at Lake Hill Memorial Gardens.

MANDY WHEELER

Mandy Lynn Wheeler, 41, of Lookout Mountain, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2024.

Mandy was born on May 20, 1982, to the late Terry and Kimberly Johnson Daniels. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who had a free spirit with a very vibrant and feisty personality. She loved to provide for her family through cooking and cleaning.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Maranda Daniels.

Survivors include her husband, Jason Wheeler; children, Jesse Riley Grant Blevins, David Abbott Jr, Kate Abbott, and Jasmin Blevins; siblings, Michael Daniels and Michelle Daniels; grandchildren, Everly Massey, Ellamae Blevins, Weston Blevins, and Stetson Blevins; and extended family members.

Funeral services were Friday, March 8, in the Trenton chapel of Moore Funeral Home. Interment was at Mount Olive Cemetery.
