LEROY HICKS

Leroy “Rudy” Hicks, 82, of Chattanooga, Tenn., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024.

Mr. Hicks was of the Baptist faith and retired from Roper Corporation with many years of service.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Mae Wooten Hicks; parents, William Mike and Edith Nevada Cuzzort Hicks; brothers, Lebron, David, Doug, Terry, Sr., and Roger Hicks.

Survivors include his son, Rodney (Yvette) Hicks of Chattanooga, Tenn.; sister, Linda (James) Dotson of Rossville; grandchildren, Rina and Brittany Griffin; great-grandchildren, Madison and Karston Miller; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 20, at 1 p.m., in the funeral home chapel with interment to follow in Payne Gap Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday, Jan. 19, from 3 until 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

BETTY PALMER

Betty Jane Patton Palmer, 87, of Trenton, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2024.

She was born on March 5, 1936, in Pisgah, Ala., to the late Dr. William D. Patton and Bertha Parker Patton. She was a lifelong member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister, a granddaughter and great-grandson.

Survivors include her children, Sheila Marie (Tommy) Marr, William Rodney (Debbie) Palmer, and Christopher Noel (Sheila) Palmer; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Saturday, Jan. 13, at 2:30 p.m., in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ronald Crocker officiating.  Interment was in Lake Hills Memorial Gardens.

GLEEN TIDWELL

Gleen Gentry Tidwell, 58, of Flat Rock, Ala., passed away Saturday, Jan.13, 2024.

Born on April 25, 1965, Gentry was the son of the late Ronnie Glenn and Eda Nelson Tidwell. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Gentry cherished his family and held them close to his heart.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Markella Gonzalez.

Survivors include his children, Kila and Nakota Tidwell; brothers, Marcus and Ivan Tidwell; grandchildren, Charlotte, Ivy, and Willow Talley; extended family members.

A Celebration of  Life will be Saturday, Jan. 27, at 1 p.m. ET in the Bryant chapel of Moore Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. ET until the service hour.
