Optimist Gateway District Photography Contest
The Trenton-Dade Optimist Club recognized Braxton Wood for representing the club and winning second place in the Optimist GATEway District photography contest this year. The goal of the contest is for students to take a photo and relate it back to one of the lines in the Optimist Creed. Wood submitted a picture of his mother in their barn giving her children haircuts and he related that photo to the Creed line “To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.” Wood was awarded a certificate and a $100 check from the district Vice President Sarah Moore and Secretary Laura Beth Cunningham. This was the clubs first year entering this contest and club members hope to gain more submissions for next year.
