GARY ATKINS
Gary Lee Atkins, 56, of Bryant, Ala., passed away Friday, Aug. 4, 2023.
Born March 13, 1967, in Warren, Mich., Gary to the late Onnie Lee Atkins and Clara Ellen Chapman Atkins. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his brothers, Darren and Anthony Atkins.
Survivors include his aunt, Betty Raines; sister, Dena Faron of Michigan; cousins and extended family.
A graveside service to honor Gary’s life was held Wednesday, Aug. 9, at Oak Lawn Memorial Park in Bryant, Ala., with Brother Wayne Winters.

JOSHUA RIDLEY
Joshua Shane Ridley, 32, of Crossville, Tenn., died Friday, Aug. 11, 2023.
He was of the Christian faith and was a wonderful husband and father. He was a graduate of Dade County High School where he was Salutatorian and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Tennessee Tech. He was a talented musician, family-oriented and a great role model.
He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Paul Greer Davis and Mickey Ridley; great-grandparents, Bernice and Carl Holland and L.V. and Ersie Davis.
Survivors include his wife, Brittney Ridley of Crossville, Tenn.; children, Elihu Shane Ridley and Diana Patricia Ridley; parents, Marshall and Patricia Ridley; brothers, Elijah (Michelle) Ridley of Harriman, Tenn., and Josiah (Savannah) Ridley of Crossville, Tenn.; grandmother, Alice Holland of Trenton; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Aug. 15, at Putnam Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Sexton officiating. Burial was in Rainey-Dill Cemetery.

PAULINE SANDERS
Pauline Long Sanders, 84, of Trenton, passed away Friday, Aug. 11, 2023.
Born Sept. 1, 1938, in Rising Fawn, Pauline was the beloved daughter of the late Paul and Virgie Gass Long. During her lifetime, Pauline had a kind heart for animals and cared for both cats and dogs. She would often feed and shelter strays that she came across. Additionally, Pauline had a passion for cooking, a skill that brought joy to her loved ones.
Pauline was preceded in death by her brothers, Otto and Allen Long.
She is survived by her brothers, David and Alvin Long; nieces, Kendra Sharp and Kecia Guffey; great–nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Sunday, Aug. 13, at the Trenton chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Eddie Cantrell officiating. Burial was at Long Cemetery in Rising Fawn.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Dade Health and Rehab and Tapestry Hospice for their compassionate care during Pauline’s time there.

JOHN STEM
John Stem, 64, of Trenton, GA passed away Friday, Aug. 4, 2023.
John lived in Georgia the majority of his life. He spent his life as a carpenter, laying floors all across Georgia. John spent his days being a friend and neighbor to many. He enjoyed fishing, watching the Georgia Bulldogs and being kind to his neighbors.
Survivors include his daughter, Amanda; granddaughter, Juniper; and brother, Ricky.
John was cremated, as he requested, at Ryan Funeral Home.

BEATRICE WILLIAMS
Beatrice C. Williams of East Ridge, Tenn., passed away Friday, Aug. 11, 2023.
She was a native of Dade County and was a member of Cloud Springs Baptist Church and the Golden Agers. Mrs. Williams was retired from Chattem.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie G. Williams; brothers, Ray Castleberry and George “Doc” Castleberry; sisters, Jeroline Gatlin and Dorothy Castleberry.
Survivors include her son, Brian (Shelley) Williams; grandchildren, Jennifer (Ben) Hamby and Zach (Whitney) Quintrell; great-grandchildren, Autumn, Audrey, Noah and Stevie; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Monday, Aug. 14, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Burial was in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
