Former Mayor Arrested for Child Molestation

Anthony Emanuel was arrested on July 7 for one count of child molestation. The Dade County Sheriff’s Office reported that the investigation is ongoing, with no further details available at this time.

The 78-year-old served as mayor of the City of Trenton for the 2004-2007 term. He was re-elected for the next term of which he served part before stepping down to attempt to run for the Dade County executive position. He was elected as mayor again for the 2012-2015 term.

Emanuel is also known for his involvement with St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, helping with their popular fish frys.

As of the morning of July 17, Emanuel was still in the Dade County Jail after one hearing. The Superior Court Judge had not yet set a bond.
