JUDY ARCHEY
Judith “Judy” Archey, 80, of Phenix City, Ala., passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023.
Judy was born in Chattanooga, Tenn., but spent many years living in Florida (Palm Beach Gardens, Tampa, Cape Coral, and DeLand) and then retired in Alabama. While in Florida, Judy raised her children Lee and Tonjia, earned her Associate’s degree, became a licensed real estate agent, opened her own real estate company (Modern Age Realty) and became one of the first state certified real estate appraisers in the state of Florida. She retired from the Department of Revenue in 2005. Judy also enjoyed buying and flipping houses and there wasn’t much remodeling she couldn’t do on her own.
Judy’s strong Christian faith was a central pillar in her life. She was a devout Christian and spent many happy hours of worship, community, and service in churches wherever she lived including Lookout Valley Baptist Church in Lookout Valley, Tenn. Judy loved to fish and had many fond memories of fishing with her dad and cousins and with her best buddy, Nell Quarles, later in life. Loved genealogy and spent countless hours researching her family history on both the Hartline and Ryan sides.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Archey; son, Bill “Lee” Archey Jr.; parents, Isaac “Newt” and Virginia Ryan.
Survivors include her daughter, Tonjia (John) Borland; granddaughters, Jennifer Archey, Mindy Archey, and Sohvi Borland; great–granddaughters Jennavecia Gillis, and Jayda Gillis; sisters, Cheryl (John) Spiller and Debra (Greg, deceased) Pasquale; brother, Alan (Debbie) Ryan; niece and nephews.

Funeral services will be Sunday, May 28, at 3 p.m., in the Ryan Funeral Home chapel with Timothy Lynch officiating. Interment will follow at Sarah’s Chapel Cemetery in Wildwood.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 27, from 4–7 p.m., EST and Sunday, May 28, from 1 p.m., until the service hour at Ryan Funeral Home and Crematory, Trenton.

FRAN HARRISON
Fran Lynn Harrison, of Trenton, passed away Friday, May 12, 2023.
She was born on Oct. 29, 1948, in Chickamauga, to Jimmy and Dorothy Holcomb. Fran was an upbeat and enthusiastic person with a smile on her face. She had a heart of gold and always took care of others. Her caring personality made everyone feel loved and appreciated. Fran’s proudest accomplishment in life was taking care of her family. In addition to being an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Fran had a successful career as co-owner of 301 Super Lube in Trenton. In her free time she enjoyed canning produce from her garden. Fran was also an avid reader of the Bible. Some of Fran’s happiest memories were the trips to Panama City Beach for family vacations.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank D. Harrison and step–mother, Pat Holcomb.
Survivors include her daughter, Karen (Phillip) Etherton; son, David (Renea) Harrison; sister, Sharon Holcomb; brothers, Steven and Scott Holcomb; grandchildren, Zachary Harrison, Draven Harrison, Austin Brown, Greyson Brown, and Heather Tishaw; great-grandchildren, Kyler Harrison, Kyson Harrison and Kyleigh Wilson.
Funeral services were Monday, May 15, at the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Winters officiating. Interment was in Brown Gap Cemetery.

DEBORAH KNIGHT
Deborah Regina Knight, 70, passed away Friday, May 5, 2023.
She was born on Dec. 3, 1952, to her parents Carmen Kenneth and Nancy Jewell Shavers. Deborah had a successful career and retired from Shaw Industries (Plant 44) where she worked as a floor lead. Deborah possessed a tenacious spirit that served her well throughout both her personal and professional life. In addition to her career achievements, Deborah was also a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Deborah will be remembered for her love of audiobooks, crafts, and always putting her family first.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Nathan Knight.
Survivors include her daughter, Kristy Nan; son, Michael Knight; brothers, Gerry (Audrey) Shavers and Terry (Christine) Shavers; grandchildren, Natalea Knight, Nikole Nan, Aaron Parrish, Amber Parrish and Tabitha Parrish; 12 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Deborah’s life will be scheduled at a late date.

JACK MURPHY
Jackson Henry Murphy, age 88, of Trenton, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2023.
Jack was born to John W. and Bonnie (Austin) Murphy on May 20, 1934 in White Oak, Tenn. Jack was a member of the first football team formed at Dade County High School in the 1950’s. He was also a veteran of the United States Army and later retired from DuPont in Chattanooga, Tenn., where he worked for 35 years as an electrician. Jack was a member of Rising Fawn Methodist Church.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, John W. and Bonnie Murphy; son, Timothy Jackson, and brothers, James (Jim), Daniel (Pat), and John A. (Johnny) Murphy.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Mary; sons, William (Bill) Murphy and Dennis Murphy; grandchildren, Timothy, Katie, Ryan and Matthew Murphy.
Funeral services were Saturday, May 13, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mike King and Rev. Reese Fauscett officiating. Interment was in the Deer Head Cove Cemetery.

SUZANNE PITTMAN
Suzanne Marie Pittman, 77, of Trenton, passed away Monday, May 8, 2023.
Mrs. Pittman was retired from the Dade County Board of Education with 20–plus years of service, was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, and had a passion for rescuing dogs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Dorothy Wierth; brother, Dennis Wierth; sister, Lynne Steffen.
Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Fred Pittman; children, Bill (Karen) Lang of Dallas, Rob (Terri) Lang of Kennesaw and Teresa Hartline of Bryant, Ala.; step-children, Tonia Pittman of Maynardville, Tenn., and Fred A. Pittman of Knoxville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Erica Frazier, Shyann Hartline, Jacob Lang, Mackenzie Lang, and Alexis Hartline; step-grandchild, Kaylin Pittman; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life was at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church on Friday, May 12, with Father Mark Thomas officiating.

JUNE SIMS
June Sims, 79, of Bryant, Ala., passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2023.
She was born June 7, 1943, in Bridgeport, Ala., to Charles and Virgie Castle Cranfield. June was a homemaker who dedicated herself to her family and her home. June enjoyed traveling and loafering in her spare time. She was a member of Straightway Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband John L. Sims; parents; son, Jerry Dean Sims; and brother, Carl Cranfield.
Survivors include her daughters, Debbie (Jon) Sims Fulmer and Rhonda Sims; sons, John Sims, Terry (Debra) Sims, James Sims and Ronnie Sims; sisters, Jean Stagner, Jenny Merritt and Jane (Mike) Talley; brother, Jimmy Cranfield; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Friday, May 12, at the Bryant Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Gary Bone and Sam Whited officiating. Interment was at Oak Lawn Memorial Park.

JERRY TALLEY
Jerry Keith Talley Sr., 78, of Trenton, passed away on May 13, 2023.
He was born on March 24, 1945, in Clinton, Tenn., to the late Foster and Mary Henegar Talley.
Jerry served his country well as a member of the United States Army. After the Army, he worked as a carpenter for Wallace Tile for most of his life. His hard work and dedication to his profession earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues. Jerry’s family was his pride and joy. Outside of work and family responsibilities, Jerry enjoyed dancing at the American Legion, attending car shows. hunting and fishing. Jerry was an ordained minister and a servant of God.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Susan Paulette Talley and Nellie Magdelene Talley; son, Ronnie Goff; daughter, Sarah Goff; siblings, William Talley, Johnny Talley, and Robbie Brown.
Survivors include his daughters, Yevonne (Jason) Helson and Teresa Hutsell; sons, Jerry Keith Talley Jr., and Kevin Wayne (Sandra) Talley; sisters, Pearl Timmons, Larry (Shirley) Talley, and Gary (Peggy) Talley; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services with military honors will be today, May 17, at noon ET in the Bryant chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Herschel Donavon Whited officiating. Interment will be at Oak Lawn Memorial Park.
A visitation will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. until noon.

FLORABELLE WEAR
Florabelle Wear, 73, of Bryant, Ala., passed away Saturday, May 13, 2023.
Florabelle was born on July 8, 1949, on Suck Creek Mountain to Lucille and Alvin Graham Sr. She graduated from Southern Missionary College where she proceeded to work as a music teacher at Floral Crest School for many years. It was there that she impacted the lives of countless students who adored her. Her love for music extended beyond the classroom, as she enjoyed taking time out to sing and play instruments within her community. Florabelle’s family meant everything to her; she loved spending time with them and dedicated herself to their well–being.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alvin Graham Sr.
Survivors include her husband, John Wear; sons, Wayne (Karen), Dr. Leland (Amy), Matthew, Mark (Larrisa Cooper), and Samuel (Beth Martin); daughter, Florabelle Amanda Wear; mother, Lucille Graham; brothers, Charran (Jill) Graham, Dr. Leon (Alice) Graham and Dr. Ronal (Marie) Graham; grandchildren, Larkin Wear, Havanna Gann-Tyree, Phoenix Wear, Keegan Wear, Brenden Wear, Cody Wear, Brianna Wear, Grant Martin, Bailey Wear Mariska Cooper-Wear and Milayna Cooper-Wear.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 19, at 1 p.m. ET in the Bryant chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Carlson officiating. Interment will be at Floral Crest Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 17, from 4–8 p.m., and Friday, May 19, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
