Mother-daughter duo Janet Breeden and Jordan Hurley celebrated the ribbon cutting of The Hive, their boutique women’s clothing store, on May 2. Breeden reported that business has been good since the store opened about five weeks prior. They bought the store from an existing boutique in Chattanooga, and the previous owner suggested opening in Trenton. Mike Breeden said, “It’s been very successful because of the style that the previous owners initiated and [Jordan has] continued.” Hurley explained, “We order brand new clothes from wholesale websites, pretty much name brands like Umgee, POL, and Charles River.” Located at 12306 South Main Street (next to Sun Dog Grooming), the store features clothes, shoes, handbags, and jewelry. The Hive is open Tuesday — Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. In addition to the storefront, they sell online at www.thehivechatt.com and have a mercantile booth at Chattanooga Mercantile and Sweet Tea in Ringgold.
