MARILYN CONKLE

Marilyn Conkle, 66, of Trenton, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2023.

Mrs. Conkle was employed by Integer of Trenton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry Conkle, parents, Hubert and Nirvina Craig; and seven brothers.

Survivors include her sons, Perry Richard (Melanie) Conkle, Los Angeles, Calif., James Michael (Carrie) Conkle, and Samuel (Erica) Conkle, all of Trenton; grandchildren, Hayden and Landon Conkle, and Ariya Gray.

Funeral services were Friday, March 24 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Gary Bone officiating.  Interment was in the Conkle Family Cemetery.

WILLIAM POWELL

William Tex Powell, 81, of the West Brow Community of Lookout Mountain, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2023.

Tex was born May 9, 1941 to the late William Duke and Ruby Davis Powell in Rising Fawn. He was a well-known body mechanic in the tri-state area and had owned and operated Tex Powell Body Shop on Lookout Mountain for 40 years. He was a founding member of the Trinity Holiness Church.

He was preceded in death by his son, Randall Powell; siblings, Betty Jo Brewer, Morrell Powell, George “Red” Powell, Janie Mae Felts, and infant sister, Elaine Powell.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Elaine Bowden Powell; daughter, Carla (Byron) Hicks; son, Adam Powell; granddaughters, Erica (Cory) Strain, Vanessa, (Issac) Simpson, Neil and Nolan Powell; five great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; sisters, Shelby Massey and Louise Hannah; brothers, Larry and Rocky Powell; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., today, March 29, in the Ryan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Erttie Veal officiating. Interment will be at Lake Hills Memorial Gardens in Trenton.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour at Ryan Funeral Home and Crematory.

TERESA STEVENS

Teresa Stevens, 67, of Bryant, Ala., passed away Friday, March 24, 2023.

Teresa was a Christian who enjoyed wrestling and flowers. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved her grandchildren so much

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Stevens; parents, Junior and Gladys Fulghum Brown; brother, Mark Brown.

Survivors include her children, Darrell (Lisa) Daniel, Trenton, Gary (Cynthia) Daniel, Lookout Mountain, and Jimmy (Stephanie) Daniel, Georgetown, S.C.; grandchildren, Taylor Daniel, Hailey Daniel, Lauren Daniel, Andrew (Rebecca) Daniel, Makayla Daniel, Serenity Daniels, Kayley Giles, and Tanner Phillips; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Calvin Brown; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Tuesday, March 28 in the funeral home chapel. Interment was in Payne’s Chapel Cemetery, Lookout Mountain.

BILLIE WHEELER

Billie Jean Wheeler, 86, of Wildwood, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2023.

Billie was born June 15, 1936, to the late Clayton and Lora Marshall. She had a very loving, generous heart and was loved by all who had the pleasure to know her. Billie was a member of Hooker Church of Christ.

Billie was preceded in death by husband, Mack Wicks; son, Michael Wicks; and brother, Cotton Marshall.

Survivors include her grandson, Michael Fairris; and daughter in-law, Becky Scott.

A graveside service was Wednesday, March 22, at Friendship Baptist Cemetery in Pisgah, Ala.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Roxanne and the staff at Hospice of Chattanooga for their compassionate care.
