The Trenton Police Department received a call around 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 22 about human remains that were found behind 214 Sunset Drive, Trenton, Ga. The remains were found in the woods near Town Creek at the southern end of Sunset Drive.

The department confirmed that the unidentified remains are skeletal. The department is working with the Dade County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) on this case.

On Feb. 24, a GBI spokesperson reported that the remains were taken to the GBI medical examiner’s office in Decatur, Ga. and are pending positive identification.

The Sentinel talked to one of the neighbors of 214 Sunset Drive who did not have any additional information and did not know who owned the property.

According to public records, Sheila Quinn of Rossville, Ga. is the current owner of the property. The Sentinel attempted to contact Quinn but has yet to receive a reply.

I hope it’s not that young girl that’s been missing from Valley Head.

Did they ever find out who the skeleton was?

Yes, they did, but they did not release the name publicly.

Why has the name and cause of death not been released on this individual? It’s been years.

Hi Maryanita, GBI reported that the remains were identified but they would not be releasing any further information out of respect for the individual’s family.
