State Capitol Tour

FCCLA members from Dade County High School toured the State Capitol, met Governor Brian Kemp, and talked with local elected officials, Senator Colton Moore and Representative Mike Cameron, about the importance of FCCLA at DCHS and how this organization has impacted their lives. Senator Moore explained the layout of the State Capitol, gave students a personal tour of the State Senate and presented a short lesson on how a bill is passed. Afterwards, FCCLA members sat in the gallery as the House of Representatives was in session and watched numerous items on Monday’s docket, including two bills that were passed. Before departing the Capitol, Representative Cameron and the students talked about FCCLA and how the organization focuses on family, careers and community involvement. He and the members discussed various community service opportunities in Dade County. Both Representative Cameron and Senator Moore commended the students on their involvement at DCHS and in the Dade County Community. FCCLA members are pictured with Gov. Kemp.
