On Jan. 28, Scenic Dade and Limestone Valley RCD are hosting a work/learning day along the newest segment of the Town Creek Trail on Jan. 28. Beyond simple trash clean up, volunteers will also help remove invasive species and install a rain garden (which includes installing native plants along the trail).
Stephen Bontekoe with Limestone Valley will give a presentation about the plants and local ecosystem. The group activities are intended to benefit the creek habitat and beautify the walking path.
This portion of the trail (behind Citizens Bank & Trust and the Dade County Courts Facility) is the most recent addition to the Town Creek Trail. Volunteers will gather behind CB&T at 10 a.m. Participants are encouraged to bring gloves and tools.
