ARTHUR COLE
Arthur Lee Cole, 87, of Hooker, passed away, Thursday, Nov. 10, 2022.
He was born Oct. 4, 1935, to Will Cole and Vinnie Jones Cole, in Hooker. Arthur was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Hooker. He was previously employed with Holsum Bakery and retired from Eureka Foundry. Arthur also served at the Dade County Family and Children Services for 40 years. He was also named as a Foster Parent of the Year.
Hewas preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Jackie Louise Cole.
Survivors include his wife, Erma J. Cole; a host of sons, daughters, and grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Ruth Simmons of Flintstone, and Geraldine Cole of Chattanooga, Tenn.; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Nov. 16 at John P. Franklin Funeral Home in Chattanooga, Tenn. Interment was in Lakewood Memory Gardens, Lookout Valley, Tenn.

MARGARET DAVIS
Margaret O’Bryan Harris Davis, 77, of Trenton, passed away Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022.
Mrs. Davis was of the Christian faith and was a dedicated homemaker to her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Preston and Maude Barclay Harris; husband, Carl Davis; sister, Barbara McNabb; brothers, Jimmy Harris, Burley Harris, and Frankie Massengale.
Survivors include her daughters, Tammy Rapier, Trenton, and Sharon Webb of Soddy Daisy, Tenn.; son, Carl Davis, Jr., Trenton; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

SALLY MCWHORTER
Vera “Sally” McWhorter, 86, of Trenton, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2022.
Better known as “Granny” to her family and friends, she was a member of The Waters Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard McWhorter; daughter, Terri Wallin; parents, P.W. and Ada Bell Mahan; siblings, Billy Jack Mahan and Dorothy Mahan.
Survivors include her children, Jackie (Kim) Wallin, Mickey (Annette) Wallin, Cathy (Rusty) Wilks, and Randy Wallin; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; grandchild and caretaker, Kody Wallin; nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life was Thursday, Nov. 17 in the funeral home chapel with Blake and Lori Smith officiating. Interment was at Brown’s Gap Cemetery.

Mary Elizabeth “Marybeth” Scott, 57, of Summerville, passed away Friday, Nov. 18, 2022.
Marybeth enjoyed cooking, gardening, and taking trips with her family. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Fulghum; step-father, Wayne Charles; sister, Barbara Clemons; husband, Neil Scott; and granddaughter, Nora Jean Touchton.
Survivors include her daughters, Miriam (Steven) Stanton and Megan (Bradley) Touchton; sister, Tesha (Tim) Sloan; brothers, Paul Fulghum, Jeff Charles, and Jackie Charles; mother, Mattie Charles; and grandchildren, Alyssa, Taylor, Bryce, Cameron, Annabelle, Marcus, Heidi-Lyn, Madison, Scarlett, Nolen, Miles, and Jaxon; nieces and nephews, Stacey, Rebekah, Sara, Emily, Misty, Cage, Jackson, Jeffery, Austin, and Devan; great–nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be today, Nov. 23 at 1 p.m., ET at the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m., until the service time.

Jerry Ed Smith, 76, of Bryant, Ala., passed away Monday, Nov. 14, 2022.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Buck Rile and Frances Nevada Smith; brothers, Bobby, Joe, and Jimmy Smith; sister, Rilene Smith; nephew, Darrel Wood.
Survivors include his sons, Mark and Jerry (Jackie) Smith; grandsons, Cameron and Dylan Smith, Blake and Jake Wallace; granddaughters, Savanna and Crystal Smith, and Brianna Dorsey; brother, Terry Smith; sisters, Joyce Shields and Glenda Wood; nephews, Tony Kesler and Timothy Shields; nieces, Karen, Angela, and Sylvia Smith; great-nieces and great-nephews.
Graveside services were Friday, Nov. 18, at Poplar Springs Cemetery with Pastor Robby Dunn officiating.
