CHARLES GUINN

Charles M. Guinn, 98, of Rising Fawn, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022.

Mr. Guinn was a well-known block and brick mason and the owner/operator of C.M. Guinn Masonry for
more than 40 years. He was a member of the former Cave Springs Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Canova and Aileen Guinn; sister, Sarah Street; daughter, Mary
Jo Hanes; grandson, Larry Abbott.

Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Elizabeth Guinn; son, Charles “Slugger” (Diana) Guinn of Rising
Fawn; grandchildren, Jennifer (Chris) Walker, Chris (Felicia) Guinn, Joe (Hilary) Guinn, Kelly (Luke)
Gray, and Mike Abbott; nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were Saturday, Oct. 22 at Hanna Cemetery with Rev. Reese Fauscett officiating.

LARRY MOORE

Larry Gene Moore, 73, of New Salem, passed away Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, after a long battle with
Parkinson’s disease.

Larry was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and a kind and considerate friend to all
that had the honor of knowing him. His compassion for others was felt by thousands throughout the
community. He always had a kind word and helping hand for anyone in need. The kindness and integrity
that marked his professional career was shown in his private life as well.

He was a long-time public servant who served Dade County as the Sole Commissioner of Dade County
from 1980–1992. Some of his contributions include building the Dade County Justice Building, the Senior Citizen Center, the Dade County Four Fields (which has recently been named in his honor), and Veteran’s Park. He was a charter member of the Dade County Optimist Club and served on various boards throughout the years. For the past 25 years, he continued to support his community as the proud owner of Moore Funeral Home. He was a faithful Christian man and a life-long member of Trenton First Baptist Church.

Larry always valued the youth of Dade County and was very involved with youth sports for many years.
He relished memories of coaching the Redskins and little league baseball teams. He was an avid supporter of Dade County High School sports. He could always be found cheering for his grandchildren and their teammates.

He had a passion for antique cars and was a member of the Dade County Cruisers. He enjoyed spending
his free time traveling to car shows seeking unique finds to add to his collection or to find a trade partner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman C. and Gladys McBryar Moore; and brothers,
Sherman C. Moore, Jr., and Ronald Dean (Ronnie) Moore.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Mary Moore; daughter, Misty (Don) Morris and their children
Gavin (Alivia) Tierce and Olivia Tierce, Ben (Myranna) Morris; son, Larry (Janet) Moore II and their
children Taylor (Brittany) Mai, Colby (Kassaundra) Mai, and Brady Mai; daughter, Wendy (Rick) Kernea
and their children Trey, Meghan and Caitlyn; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Oct.25 at the Trenton chapel of Moore Funeral Home. Interment was at
Hawkins Cemetery in New Salem.

BARBARA PELL

Barbara Dean Finn Pell, 88, of Trenton, passed away Thursday, Sept. 15, 2022 after a long illness.

She was born on April 22, 1934, in Franklin, Ky. Her family moved to North Chattanooga while she was
a young girl. She was a homemaker most of her life, that loved her family, dancing, doodling with a pencil, good conversation and her home of 48 years on Sand Mountain.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nolan and Ollie Finn; husband of 63 years, Lonnie Ed Pell;
sister, Betty Sue Gooden; infant great-grandson, Gabriel Bastian; and son-in-law, Tony McBryar.

Survivors include her step-son, Verlon (Pat)Pell; daughters, Rhonda Morris and Regina McBryar; sons,
Tim (Angela) Pell, Tony Pell; nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and four great–great-
grandchildren.

Graveside services were Sept. 17 at Oak Lawn Memorial Park.

KELLY SMITH

Kelly Edith Smith, 60, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022.

Kelly was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She served as a pastor’s wife at
Piney Grove Baptist Church for 27 years. Kelly will be remembered by her strong faith, beautiful smile,
loving personality, sweet and generous spirit, and quick wit. She loved to paint, decorate, and spend time
with her family and friends. She spent many years of her life in the service of her Lord and devoted herself to helping others in need.

Kelly was preceded in death by her fathers, George “Hap” Eastman and Gary Brewster.

Survivors include her husband of 42 years, John Smith; daughters, Amanda (Ryan) Chambliss and
Tammy Smith; son, Stephen Smith; grandsons, Addison Davis, Gabriel Costley, and Lucas Costley; great-granddaughter, Scarlet Davis; her mother, Sally Eastman; nine siblings; nieces and nephews.

Kelly will be remembered by her strong faith, beautiful smile, loving personality, sweet and generous
spirit, and quick wit. She loved to paint, decorate, and spend time with her family and friends. She spent
many years of her life in the service of her Lord and devoted herself to helping others in need. She will be
greatly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends at Trenton First Baptist Church on Saturday, October 22, 2022, from 4pm
until 8pm EST. A celebration of Kelly’s life will be held on Sunday, October 23 at 4pm EST, at Trenton
First Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Trenton Baptist Cemetery.

Arrangements are entrusted to Ryan Funeral Home and Crematory, Trenton.

WILLIAM THOMPSON

William Joshua “Wild Bill” Thompson, 32, of Flat Rock, Ala., passed away Sunday, Oct. 23, 2022.

He was born Nov. 1, 1989, to Harold and Connie Thompson. He was an excellent carpenter, arborist and
enjoyed repelling. He loved to spend time with family and friends and will be missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his parents, Harold and Connie Thompson; daughter, Kristen “K.K.” Thompson;
significant other, Natalie Smith; sister, Ashia Nicole (Colton) Dagnan.

A Celebration of Life will be Thursday, Oct. 27 at 2 p.m. ET at the Bryant chapel of Moore Funeral
Home.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. ET.

BILL WANAMAKER

Bill T. Wanamaker, lovingly known to many as Pop Bill, 85, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022.

Everyone who ever met Pop Bill was sure to have heard a story or two. He loved to tell stories, play his
musical instruments and attend sporting events. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them. Bill was a member of White Oak Baptist Church. He was born and raised in Grundy/Warren County, Tenn., to parents, Marvin and Mabel Wanamaker.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife of 52 years, Brenda Ruegge Wanamaker;
daughter, Denise Wanamaker Underhill; son, Michael G. Wanamaker; grandchildren, Stephen Hunter and Katelyn Underhill; brothers, Alvin and Danny Wanamaker. He was also preceded in death by his second wife of 15 years, Maggie Gilbert Wanamaker.

He is survived by daughters, Deborah (Danny) Johnson and Gina (Jeff W.) George; grandchildren, Kelly
(Erica) Johnson, Travis (Jennifer) Johnson, Sheena (Thomas V.) Johnson, Bobby (Brittany) Cantrell, Justin (Beth) Wanamaker, Karly Wanamaker, Jacob George and Chelsi (Michael A.) George; 20 great-
grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Carrie Lou Tate and Loretta Roberts; brother, Foster Wanamaker; nieces, nephew, and cousins. In addition to his blood relatives from Tennessee, Pop Bill is also survived by many family and friends in Alabama and Georgia who have grown to love him over the past 15 years.

Services were Saturday, Oct. 22 with Jackie Matheny and Kevin Murphy officiating the service.

Internment was at Philadelphia Cemetery in Grundy County, Tenn.
