RODNEY BOTTOMS
Rodney Allan Bottoms, 54, of Trenton, passed away Thursday, Sept.22, 2022.
He was born Aug. 7, 1968, in St. Petersburg, Fla., to Donna Brown Bottoms and the late Douglas Bottoms, Sr. Rodney enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by brother, Scott Bottoms.
Survivors include his mother, Donna (Bradley Holland) Bottoms; brother, Douglas Bottoms, Jr.

GERALDYN CRAIG
Geraldyn May Craig, 85, of Flat Rock, Ala., passed away Sunday, Sept. 18, 2022.
Geraldyn was born in Camden, Maine on Jan. 17, 1937, to the late Malcolm and Lena Joy. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a wonderful homemaker. She was the center of attention and a lot of fun to be around. Geraldyn will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Robert “Bob” Craig, Sr.; daughter, Pam (John) Record; sons, Robert (Cindy Rancourt) Craig, Jr., and Phillip (Sherrie) Craig; grandchildren, Robert III (Nelly), Katherine and (Erine Nichols), Julie and (Aaron Fore), Andrew Craig, Courtney Rancourt, Phillip, Jr., Rebecca and (Alderson Lambert), Scott and (Elizabeth) John W., Maranda; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Tim (Diane) Joy; nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were Friday, Sept. 23 at Floral Crest Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Jason Carlson officiating. Interment was at Floral Crest Cemetery in Bryant, Ala.

JASON FINLAYSON
Jason Dale Finlayson, 47, of Flat Rock, Ala., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022.
Jason was born July 7, 1975, on Lookout Mountain to the late Bryant and Charlotte Finlayson. He received the Holy Ghost in August 1990 at Briar Fork Holiness Church and married his sweetheart, Marquita, Nov. 25, 1994. Jason was a wonderful, attentive friend to all that he met. He feared and walked with God with great joy. Jason loved goofing off with his kids, grandkids and whoever else was around. He was a “Dad” to a lot of children and a wonderful example of a child of God. He owned and operated Finlayson Construction.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sandy Sanford.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Marquita Finlayson; children, Ethan (Taylor) Finlayson and Kacie (Phillip) Kendrick; grandchildren, Cohen Kendrick, Athena Finlayson, Atlas Finlayson and Olivia Kendrick; siblings, Micah (Glenn) Kerby, Mark (Debbie) Finlayson, Kenny Finlayson, Jari (Ricky) Hughes, Scott (Amy) Finlayson, Rod (Fiona) Finlayson, Carma (Wayne) Johnson; brother in-law, Bill (Mary) Sanford; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Saturday, Sept. 24 in the Trenton chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Bobby House, Jason Wooten and Aaron Wooten officiating. Interment was in the Finlayson Family Cemetery, Valley Head, Ala., (Rising Fawn Holiness Church).

FLOYD KENNEDY
Floyd Allon Kennedy, 75, of Whiteside, Tenn., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2022.
Floyd was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam Era.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Edward Kennedy Jr.; brother Timothy Kennedy.
Survivors include his children, Tammy, Rebecca, and Allen; two step-children Johnny and T.R. Henry; life–long companion, Annie Henry; sisters, Connie Bice, Sherrill (Freddie) Cole; Kathy Karr, and Teresa Allan; brothers, Robert Steve (Shelia) Kennedy, Ronnie (Cindy) Kennedy, and Wayne Kennedy. \
A Celebration of Life service was Friday, Sept. 23 at Whiteside Baptist Church, Whiteside, Tenn. Interment with military honors was in Hooker Cemetery.

BEN MORRISON
Benjamin “Ben” Burla Morrison, 43, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2022.
Ben was born in Stevenson, Ala., to Danny Morrison and Jean Hyatt. Ben enjoyed playing the drums and spending time with his family. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
Survivors include his father, Danny Morrison; mother, Jean Hyatt; brother, Matt (Shaylia) Morrison; sister, Kristy Campbell; nieces and a nephew.

TRAVIS MOSES
Travis Lynn “Moose” Moses, 47, of Trenton, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2022.
Travis was a 1995 graduate of Dade County High School
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lynn and Patsy Riddle Moses.
Survivors include his wife, Crystal Green; sisters. Tracy and April Moses, all of Trenton; nephews, Alex Moses and Jaxson Higgins.
A private service will be held at a later date.

JOHN PATAKY
John Pataky, 90, of Lookout Mountain, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2022.
Mr. Pataky was a graduate of McCallie School and Georgia Tech. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and returned to “The Ridge” where he taught all levels of mathematics for 50–plus years. John was a head coach for 46-plus years, coaching and mentoring thousands of McCallie boys who remained close to his heart. He coached cross country, track, soccer, and swimming for 106-plus athletic seasons. The Math Center, as well as the McCallie Aquatics Center, are named in his honor. John lived by a lifelong motto of “honor, truth, and duty,” as well as excellence, which he strived for in life, the classroom, in the pool or on the field.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tibor and Ellen Pataky; first wife, Alice Pataky; daughter-in-law, Vickie White; granddaughter, Ashleigh Lusk.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Debbie Martin Pataky; sister, Mary Haynie of New Hope, Penn.; nieces and nephews, Karen, Brian, David and Keith; step–daughter, Melissa (Jimmy) Bryant; son-in-law, Bill White; grandsons, Robert Lusk, Tripp White, and Rhett White; great-granddaughter, Alyissa Sue.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m., ET in the chapel on the McCallie School Campus on Sunday Oct. 2. He will be laid to rest in a private service at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

VIRGINIA YANCY
Virginia May Yancy, 72, of Ider, Ala., passed away Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022.
Virginia was born Jan. 4, 1950, in Higdon, Ala., to the late Thomas and Ilean Williams. She was a member of Ider Holiness Church and stayed active visiting and helping people. Virginia loved to garden and could make anything grow. She enjoyed shopping at thrift stores with her sisters and eating at Cracker Barrel. Virginia was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Yancy and brother, Coy Williams.
Survivors include her children, Cindy (Chad) Spurgeon, Michelle (Tony) Kesler and Nathan (Marina) Yancy; sisters, Mable Gilbert and Jandle (Terry) Holley; grandchildren, Colby (Madison) Wagner, Austin (Ashlee) Wagner, Mikala (Bailey) Siniard, Sam, Luke and Adriana Yancy, Cooper Spurgeon; great-grandchildren, Quinn and Sawyer Wagner.
Graveside services were Monday, Sept. 26 at Brown Gap Cemetery.
