SHARON BARNES

Sharon Ann Barnes, 60, of Bryant, Ala., passed away at home on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2022.

Sharon was a very proud member of the North Sand Mountain community and a huge supporter of the high school band and the Alabama Crimson Tide. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and grandmother. She was dearly loved by her family and will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Woodrow Workman; brothers, Junior, Thomas, Sammy and Claude Workman; sisters, Geraldine Johnson and Wilma Tinker.

Survivors include her husband of 34 years, John Barnes; mother, Betty Workman; daughter, Cherish (Chris) Sutherland; son, Ron (Beth Gass) Waldrop; sisters, Denise (George) Wilson and Deloris (Glen) Norris; brothers, Clyde and Noah Workman; grandchildren, Laelynn Sutherland, Lane Waldrop and Holden Waldrop; special friends, Sharivea Ni’t and Sandy Pritchett; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Saturday, Aug. 13 in the Bryant chapel on Moore Funeral Home.  Interment was in Higdon Cemetery.

BOBBY BROWN

Bobby Wayne Brown, 72, of Trenton, passed away Monday, Aug. 8, 2022.

He was born May 6, 1950, to the late Jack and Mattie Brown. Bobby was a loving and caring man that loved his family and all his dogs. His passion and involvement in the Tri-State Humane Society will surely be missed. He loved to fish and was a huge Alabama football fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Walker.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Brown; daughter Sherri (Scott Brad) Goggan of Athens; step-son, Brian McMahan; step-daughter, Rachel Troxtel; grandchildren, Kate Goggan, Will Goggan, Mary Goggan, and Sam Goggan of Athens, Reece McMahan and Jaxx McMahan of Trenton, Ashley Troxtel (Brian Anderson), Braylie Troxtel of Chattanooga, Tenn.; Raven Jackson, Braden Greenle, Ko Daniels; sisters, Jackie (Earl) Bryant, Section, Ala., Libby (Lon) Eriks, Rainsville, Ala., Donna (Pete) Russell, Rainsville, Ala.; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Thursday, Aug. 11 in the Trenton chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Hutch Garmany and Lewis Wheeler officiating, after which he will be cremated.

CHARLES CRAIG

Charles E. Craig, 72, of Lookout Mountain, passed away Friday, Aug. 12, 2022.

Charles was a lifelong resident of the West Brow community and was of the Baptist faith. He retired after many years with Stevens Drywall, he loved the outdoors, whether it was fishing, hunting, or just working in his yard and was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry E. and Cleo Johnson Craig; brother, Jerry Wayne Craig.

Surviving include his wife, Sue Craig; son, Christopher (Becca) Craig of Lookout Mountain; sisters, Charlotte (Donnie) Stevens of Lookout Mountain and Nancy (Gene) Grigsby of Flintstone; brothers, Mac (Janice) Craig and Milford Craig, all of Lookout Mountain; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were Tuesday, Aug. 16 at Mount Olive Cemetery with Rev. Jim Lilly officiating with full military honors by American Legion Post  #106.  Pallbearers were Keith Stevens, Tim Stevens, Shane Craig, Casey Craig, Cody Cameron, and Lane Willbanks; honorary pallbearer Kira Willbanks carried him to rest.

JAMIE DEMPSEY

Jamie Edward Dempsey, 46, of Chattanooga, Tenn., passed away Sunday, Aug. 7, 2022.

Jamie attended Dade County Schools and was a self-employed roofer.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Paul Dempsey, and his grandparents, Alvin and Flora Bailey and Gurney and Mary Blancett Dempsey.

Survivors include his sons, Dallas and Jonathan Dempsey; daughter, Miranda Alexis Dempsey; mother, Marilyn Sue Bailey Davis; sister, Tammy Wixom.

Graveside services were Thursday, Aug. 11 at Lake Hills Memorial Gardens in Trenton with Brother Mark Finlayson officiating.

OLA EVERS

Ola Florence Evers, 81, of Bryant, Ala., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2022.

Ola was born April 17, 1941, to the late Howard Lee and Lonia Mae Hawkins. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, caring grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and sister. She was a member of Straightway Baptist Church and served as treasurer for many years. She was loved by all who knew her and will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Evers; son, Wayne Evers; siblings, Emsey K. Hawkins, Edna Ruth Hill, Laura Lorene Armstrong, Sally Louise Vann, William Eskell Hawkins, Newell Amos Hawkins, Raymond Lee Hawkins, Julius Ralph Hawkins and Vera Inez Barnnett..

Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Janet Cerutti and Willa Lambert (Johnny Bell); son, Frederick “Fred” (Susan) Cerutti III; sister, Catherine Marie Dobbs; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Saturday, Aug. 13 at the Bryant chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Gary Bone and Sam Whited officiating. Interment was in Bryant Cemetery.

RANDY HOLT

Randy Emmett Holt, 63, of Rising Fawn, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2022 after a long bought with cancer.

Randy was born Nov. 29, 1958, to Bobbie Barker and the late Roy Holt. He retired from Coca-Cola after many years of service and enjoyed collecting guns. Randy was loved by many and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Holt and niece, Melonie Johnson.

Survivors include his daughter, Missy (B.J.) Hartline; son, Randy (Haley) Holt; mother, Bobbie Barker; sisters, Elaine Johnston and Terri (Brian) Shadden; grandson, Boyd Lee Harline III; mother of his children, Pam Holt; aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services were Saturday, Aug. 13 at Moore Funeral Home with Brother Rory Blevins officiating.

WENDY KENEMORE

Wendy Lee Kenemore, 48, of Bryant, Ala., passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022.

She was born in Bridgeport, Ala., to the late Larry and Monica Hardeman Giles. Wendy liked to draw and work on puzzles; she loved animals and enjoyed her daily bible study devotional every morning. She was a loving wife and mother who will be missed greatly.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her niece, Avery Marr.

She is survived by her husband, Reed Kenemore; son, Seth Kenemore; sister, Mindy Marr; brother, Johnathan (Amanda) Giles; a niece, several nephews, and an extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A memorial service is scheduled at Floral Crest Seventh Day Adventist Church in Bryant, AL on Aug. 20.

VOLKER RAKE

Volker Rake, 80, of Harrison, Tenn., passed away Sunday, Aug. 14, 2022.

Volker was born Oct. 26, 1941, in Berlin, Germany to Karl Max Gerhard Rake and Erika Reinhardt  Rake. At age 13, Volker came the United States for the first time with his mother, and loving stepfather, Robert Charles Brasher. He became a permanent resident at the age of 17 and went on to graduate from Central High School. At the age of 20, he met the love of his life, June Hartline Rake, and they married nine months later. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary, last week on Aug. 11. He was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his is father, Karl Max Gerhard Rake; mother, Erika Reinhardt Rake Brasher; second father, Sgt. Bob Brasher; sister, Margaret Brasher; brother, Henry Ahee.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, June Rake,; daughters, Monica (Larand) Spencer, Erika (Kenny) Sims, and Heidi (Brandon) Scott; grandchildren, Kody (Lynsey)  Spencer, Garrett Sims, and Kelsi (Jordon) Bethune, seven great–grandchildren; siblings, Barbara Bartel, Ute Schwalm, Bob (Veronica) Brasher, Ronnie (Miriam) Brasher, and Karl (Sue) Ahee.

Funeral services will be at noon today, Aug. 17 at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Reverend Jonathan Witt officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Parks.

DAMIAN WADE

Damian Blaze Wade, 21, of Flat Rock, Ala., passed away on Friday, Aug. 5, 2022.

He was born July 5, 2001, to Steven Wade and Shanna Stone. Damian was a very special young man who was loved by many and had a number of friends. We as his family loved him most. Damian will always be treasured, and never forgotten.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Keith and Diane Stone.

Survivors include his parents, Steven Wade and Shanna Stone; sister, Kara Graham; brother, Ryver Graham; grandparents, Steve and Marites Wade, Scott and Johnnie Sullivan; great-grandparents, Leon and Gail Wade, Evelyn Stone, Henry and Beth Greenwood; uncle, Dustin Wade; aunt, Melissa Stone; cousins, Zoey Wade, Zerek Stone, Freedom Webb and Tristen Stone.

Funeral services were Thursday, Aug. 11 in the Trenton chapel of Moore Funeral Home. Interment was at Floral Crest Cemetery in Bryant, Ala.
