ROGER DALE BEARDEN

Roger Dale Bearden, 70, of Trenton, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2022.

He was born March 5, 1952, to the late Travis and Aleene Porter Bearden. Roger Dale retired from FESCO where he worked as a Master Electrician. He was a loving father, brother, uncle and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his daughters, Alicia (Sherman) Wooten and Jessica Bearden; sisters, Debbie (Glenn) Steele and Althea (Buddy) Tosh; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Saturday, July 9 at Moore Funeral Home. Interment was at Brown Gap Cemetery.

BESS BROWN

Bess Anna “Dew” Brown, 81,  passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2022 in Savannah.

She was born to Frank and Betty Dew both of Lake City, Tenn., and graduated from Lake City High School in 1959. She attended East Tennessee State University after high school. While at East Tennessee State she was crowned Ms. Anderson County and ran for Ms. Tennessee. She then moved to Atlanta and became a flight attendant for Delta Airlines. After a successful career with Norrell and TRC Staffing in Atlanta, she started her own business “Anna’s Gift Baskets” that she operated for over 25 years. Bess enjoyed traveling, walking, playing tennis and riding Harleys. She traveled extensively with her beloved husband of 36 years Tommy Dale Brown. She was a beloved stepmother, wife, sister, grandmother and friend who loved to entertain.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Brown.

Survivors include her step-daughter Shannon Brown Bacon and her husband Trey (Sydney and Andrew) of Savannah; brother, Steve and sister-in-law Sheri Dew of Albany; niece, Stephanie Dew Garrison and her husband Michael (Chase, Brady and Tate) of Macon; nephew, Stephen Dew and his wife Brandy (Tillman and Avery) of Albany. Other surviving relatives include Courtney and Carolyn Pearre, Howard and Jane Blume, Phyllis Collins, Ron and Vera Lee Castleberry, David and Becky Dew and Eddie Dew.

Funeral services were Thursday, July 7 at Ryan Funeral Home. Interment was in Bethlehem Cemetery with Pastor Jerry Atkins officiating.

SUE KINSEY

Sue Ann Kinsey, 66, of Bryant, Ala., passed away Saturday, July 9, 2022.

Sue was born Feb. 2, 1956, in Bridgeport, Ala., to Vivian Rose Leiderman and Bud Bozarth. She enjoyed the outdoors, working in her yard and flowers. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Doc Kinsey; father, Bud Bozarth; brother, Patrick Bozarth; and grandparents, Elizabeth Davis and Mitchell Leiderman.

Survivors include her son, Chad (Cassie) Garrett; mother, Vivian Rose Bozarth; sister, Debra (William) Scruggs; brother, Alan (Patricia) Bozarth; grandsons, Conner and Colby Garrett; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Tuesday, July 12 at Moore Funeral Home with Chad Garrett and Al Scruggs officiating. Interment was at Straightway Cemetery in Bryant, Ala.

SHIRLEY SMITH

Shirley Rae White Smith, 77, of Trenton, passed away on Monday, July 4, 2022.

Mrs. Smith was a member of Straightway Baptist Church, had worked at Buster Brown in Ider, Ala., and was retired from Gill Industries in Trenton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Arthur Smith; parents, Willard and Jewel White; brother, Wayne White and sisters, Barbara Chaney, Ruth Owens, and Jimmie Durham.

Survivors include her son, Ray (Teresa) Smith; daughters, Regina (Thomas) Felden, and Karen (Doug Holder) Johnson; grandchildren, Michael Hicks, Patrick (Ashlee) Hicks, Brittany McCloud, Jesse Holt, Terry Chapman, and Nichole Maddox; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Christine Tinker; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Thursday, July 7 in the funeral home chapel with Brother Stan Holt officiating.  Interment was in Bethlehem Cemetery in Ider, Ala.
