HELEN BRADFORD

Helen Ruth Bradford, 89, of Trenton, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2022.

Mrs. Bradford was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Bradford; parents, Charlie and Mildred Shankles; brothers, Charles and Harold Shankles.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Ken and Debra Bradford, Danny and Ginger Bradford, Ronny and Jackie Bradford, and Tony and Kelly Bradford, all of Trenton; grandchildren, Heather (Jeff) Brewer, Jessica (Ryan) Clark, Morgan (Brent) Wilbanks, Matthew, Shelby, Abby, and Luke Bradford, Scott and Ryan Bradford; great-granddaughters, Hailey and Molly Brewer; great-grandsons, Easton, Eli, and Everett Wilbanks; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be today, June 15 at 11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Renshaw and Rev. Larry DeMoss officiating. Interment will be in Lake Hills Memorial Gardens.

OLIVIA DAVIS

Olivia Denise Davis, 27, of Dalton formerly of Trenton, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2022.

Olivia was a firework; charming, loud and exceptionally beautiful. From the moment she was born she was a booming presence that lit up her entire family. She was incredibly popular and would easily have everyone in the nearby vicinity falling in love with her. She lived most of her life in Trenton and attended Dade County High School and Chattanooga College.  She was previously employed by Covenant Transport and most recently by Braun’s Transport in Dalton.

Survivors include her children Eva, Isaac and Eliah.  She also leaves behind her mother, Tina Davis Kesler; grandmother, Cheryl Peralta; two sisters; aunts and uncles; fiance’ Michael.

A celebration of her life will was Tuesday, June 14 at in the Ryan Funeral Home chapel. Memorial donations may be made in Olivia’s memory to The Launch Pad, 617 Marlboro Ave., Chattanooga, Tenn. 37412 of at lpchatt.org.

PAMELA DOBBINS

Pamela Kay Smith Dobbins, 62, of Bryant, Ala., passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022.

Pam was a self-employed business owner and was a volunteer firefighter at the Bryant Fire Department.  She was of the Pentecostal faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Annie Crisp Laney.

Survivors include her daughter, Virginia (Lee) Ellis, Bryant, Ala.; husband, Randy Dobbins; sister, Cheryl Laney, Bryant, Ala.; brothers, Rodney (Susie) Laney, Rising Fawn, and Anthony (Denise) Laney, Higdon, Ala.; nieces and nephew.

Funeral services were Saturday, June 11 in the Ryan Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Lewis Smith officiating.  Interment was in Brown’s Gap Cemetery.

NICK FORSHEE

Charles Nicholas “Nick” Forshee, 53, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022.

He was born January 16, 1969, to Robert Lee and Mary Forshee. He served as pastor of North Georgia Worship Center in Wildwood for 18 years, which next to his family, was the love of his life. He loved his Debra, Jade and Logan, his family but most of all his Jesus.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Forshee and brother, John Forshee.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Debra Forshee; daughter, Jade (Logan) Groves; father, Robert L. Forshee and step-mother, Jill Forshee; sister, Kathy (John) Taylor; brothers, Tim (Gina) Forshee and Bobby (Teresa) Forshee; nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life was Friday, June 10, 2022 at Trenton Ministry Center with Pastor Randy Tinker officiating. He was laid to rest at Lake Hills Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to North Georgia Worship Center, P.O. Box 122, Wildwood, GA 30757 to fund Nick’s passion and mission for “Free Food Friday Ministry” and building fund.

CHARLES IVEY, JR.

Charlie Luther Ivey, Jr., 88, of Rossville, formerly of Trenton, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022.

Mr. Ivey was a 1951 graduate of Davis High School, attended Edmondson School of Business, Snead College, and Clear Creek Baptist College. He had pastored churches in Georgia, Tennessee, and Virginia. Before ministering, he was employed with U.S. Pipe and Foundry.

Mr. Ivey was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Luther Ivey, Sr., and Annie Kirby Ivey; daughter, Anita Ivey; sisters, Willadean Patton, Thelma Gray, and Edith Lane; brother, Alton Ivey, and grandson, Seth Pitre.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Carol Johnson Ivey; daughters, Cheryl Ivey of Rossville, Donna “Punkin” (Tom) Edwards, Bristol, Va., and Tammy (Allen) Neely, Soddy Daisy, Tenn.; son, David (Kathy) Ivey, Ooltewah, Tenn; sister, Jane (Donald) Moreland, Trenton; brother, Jack (Alma) Ivey, Trenton; grandchildren, Sarah, Bradley, Jonathan, Anita, Christian, Adam, Rebecca, Leslie, and Jessica; 16 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Thursday, June 9 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Tom Edwards and Rev. Clay Moreland officiating. Interment was in New Home Baptist Cemetery.

JEFFREY LAWS

Jeffrey Ray Laws, 56, of Trenton, formerly of Cygnet, Ohio, passed away Friday, June 3, 2022.

Jeffrey, also know as Jeff to many, was a lifelong auto mechanic and later, an auto claims adjuster. He was always full of laughter and entertainment. Although he moved away from his hometown, he was still the biggest fan of his Buckeyes and Indians. Jeff was a beloved husband, step-father, brother, uncle, great-uncle and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Norma Laws.

Survivors include his wife, Belinda Laws; step-children, Karissa (Jeremy) Duncan and Garett Sharp; sister, Jacquie Sturges (Scott McGriffin) and Connie (Mike) Wagner; two grandchildren, Paislee and Blakely Duncan; nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at a late date in Ohio.

GEORGE S. MCGEE JR.

George S. McGee, Jr., 97, of Bryant, Ala., passed away Saturday, June 11, 2022.

He a World War II veteran that served in the United States Navy on the USS Randolph. He received numerous medals, including the Distinguished Flying Cross Medal. He was an Aviation 1st Class Radio Man and tail gunner who flew countless missions in the Pacific. He was the owner of Davis Pipe, Alloy Fabricators, Pipe Alloy and McGee Limousin Farms. He was a lifetime member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday School teacher and Choir Director and RA Leader. George was a Gideon and Ruritan member. He loved gardening and was a member of the Bonsai Society and Optimist Club of Chattanooga.

George was preceded in death by his parents, George S. McGee, Sr., and Mary Elizabeth McGee; sister, Mildred Mann.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley Knight McGee; children, Stan McGee III, Jill (Tommy) Farmer, Carrie (John) McAfee; grandchildren, Josh, Anna, Emma, Drake (Chelsea), Zachary, Caraline (Jared), Payton (Paige); great–grandsons, Christian, Nash and soon to be Knox.

Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m., ET today, June 15 in the Bryant chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Steve Townson officiating.  He will be laid to rest at Ebenezer Cemetery in Bryant, Ala.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., ET.

WILLARD RYAN

Willard Ryan, 83, longtime resident of Trenton and Dade County, passed away Friday, June 10, 2022.

Willard was retired from Combustion Engineering as a welder and spent his post-retirement years working in his shop welding for people in Dade County and other areas. He had served on the Trenton City Council for a number of years, was a Master Mason emeritus and Past Master of the Trenton Masonic Lodge #179 F&AM, and was a member of the Alhambra Shrine in Chattanooga, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Gladys Payton Ryan; sister, Lynda Ryan, and brothers, James and Ray Ryan.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Sue McMahan Ryan; daughter, Karen Ryan (Jon) Somsen, Rising Fawn; son, Ralph (Kim) Ryan, Trenton; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Graveside services will be held at a later date at Lake Hills Memorial Gardens.

ROBERT WILLIAMS

Robert Ray Williams, 65, of Bryant, Ala., passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022.

Robert was a member of Kelly’s Ferry Church of God, was a graduate of Dade County High School and attended Northeast Alabama.  He was employed as an E.M.T. while working at Shaw Industries in Trenton and retired from Beaulieu in Bridgeport, Ala.

Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Lois Edgeworth Williams; brother, Jimmy Williams; and uncle, Gene Edgeworth.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Williams; daughter, LaShonda (Mark) Slatton of Bryant, Ala.; brothers, Mike (Sandra) Williams of Trenton, and Jerry (Felicia) Williams of Plant City, Fla.; grandchildren, Ella and Priscilla Slatton.

Funeral services were Friday, June 10 in the funeral home chapel with Brent Smith and Rev. Gary Bone officiating.  Interment was in Gibdock Cemetery.

CHARLES YOUNG

Charles “Chuck” Wilburn Young, 86 of Jasper, Tenn., passed away Friday, June 3, 2022.

He was born in Hamilton, Ala., in July of 1935. He traveled around the country with his family and began working at the youthful age of eight, doing odd jobs and then working alongside them while they picked cotton, fruits, and vegetables in the fields as migrant workers. At the age of 15, he moved to California to live with his sister and brother-in-law and to begin training in a new career in construction as a lather.

At 19, he met Laferna (Fern) Fox then they were soon married and had a long marriage of 59 years and raised two daughters. Chuck was a very diligent worker and was never without a job, sometimes holding down more than one position at a time. One of his chief goals was to be a good provider for his family and that his family would never know the poverty that he lived through as a child. He and his family lived in California, Georgia, and Tennessee. He loved horses and enjoyed owning and showing them in local, state and national horse shows. He was civic minded and would work feverishly to get things passed or blocked depending on the benefits or detriment to his community.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Chloe Young; his wife, Laferna Young; sister, Wynona West; his brothers, J.W. Young and Norman Young; two infant sisters; brothers-in-law, Al West and Bob Hoff and sister-in-law, Maudie Young.

Survivors include his daughters, Sherry (Mark) Wesson and Sheila (Jeff) Watson; grandchildren, Chris (Rachel) Wesson, Greg (Caroline) Wesson, Matt Wesson, and Rachel (Drayton) Blackgrove; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Chloe, Ellie, Silas, Nathan, Louis, Katherine, Joseph, Abby, Cora, Samuel, and John-Max Wesson; sister, Juanita Hoff; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Saturday, June 11 at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tenn. Interment was at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens, Jasper, Tenn.
