LILA ADKINS
Mary Lila Bradford Adkins, 91, of New Salem, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2022.
Lila was born April 29, 1930, in Ascalon to the late Claude and Ella Hise Bradford. She loved to cook and entertain family and friends. Lila was an accomplished seamstress and quilter who enjoyed working in her yard and tending the flowers. She was a member of New Salem Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by husband, Duell “Buddy” Adkins and brothers, Arvine, Leo, Omar and Jack Bradford.
Survivors include her daughters, Judy (Nikki) Oliver of New Salem, Tina (Eddie) Marable of New Salem, and Tammy (Steve) Johnson of Knoxville, Tenn.; son, Terry (Kathy) Adkins of New Salem; sister, Joyce Tremmier; brother, Gene Bradford; 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren..
Funeral services were Tuesday, April 19 at New Salem Methodist Church. Interment was at Hawkins Cemetery.

DAWSON SMITH
Dawson Wyatt Smith, age 1, of Flat Rock, Ala., passed away Monday, April 11, 2022.
Dawson was born a happy baby with congenital myopathy, but never gave up, always a fighter. He loved monkeys, giraffes, and bath time.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Karen Moreland; great-grandfather, Glenn Bible Smith, great-uncle, Kevin Smith, and great-great-grandmother, Mary Lee Steele.
Survivors include his parents, Travis and Ashley Smith; sisters, Scarlett Kay Smith and Carolina Graciela Smith; brothers, Glenn Bible Smith, II, and Ayden Lee Scott Smith; grandparents, Derrick Moreland and Fred and Tammy Smith; great-grandparents, Robert and Laura Steele and Martha Lee Smith; godparents, Josh and Crysten Moreland and Amanda Elliot.
A celebration of life was Friday, April 15 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Clay Moreland officiating.

MAGGIE WANAMAKER
Maggie Shavers Gilbert Wanamaker, 90, of Trenton, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2022.
Maggie was born May 31, 1931 to the late Silas and Naomi Duncan Shavers. She enjoyed fishing, quilting and genealogy. She was a member of White Oak Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Maggie was predeceased by husband, Albert “Achee” Gilbert; granddaughter, Carla Carter; siblings, Cecil Shavers, Mary Katherine Craig, Carmen Shavers, Paul Shavers, Huey Lee Shavers and Johnny Shavers.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Wanamaker; daughter, Lisa (Reggie Higdon) Shrader; sons, Eddie (Delores) Gilbert, Mike (Nancy) Gilbert and Donald (Sherralynn) Gilbert; step-daughters, Deborah (Danny) Johnson and Gina George; grandchildren, Donald II, Michelle, Chris, Phillip, Kindra, Michael, Andrew and Bryson; 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Friday, April 15 at Friendship Baptist Church in Pisgah, Ala., with Reverend Wayne Winters officiating. Interment was at Friendship Baptist Cemetery.
