GRETCHEN FLYNN

Gretchen Lynch Flynn, 57, of Florida, formally of Trenton, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2022, from pulmonary fibroris.

She was born Dec. 13, 1964 to Nancy and the late Johnny Lynch of Trenton. Her siblings are Jill and Japi. She was a 1983 graduate of Northwest Georgia High School and was a jewelry designer.

 

DONALD MCBRYAR

Donald Flyod McBryar, 91, of Trenton, passed away Monday, April 4, 2022.

Donald was born Feb. 25, 1931, to the late Frank and Maude McBryar. He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from Dupont in Chattanooga, Tenn. Donald enjoyed relaxing on his front porch watching cars drive by. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

In addition to his parents, he was predeseased by wife, Peggy McBryar; sister, Merita Wilson; and brothers, Doyle and Willard McBryar.

Survivors include his daughters, Phyllis (Terry) Powell and Lucretia Houts; brother, Clinton McBryar; grandchildren, Brad Buchanon and Tyler Powell; and great-grandchildren, Gabe and Breely Buchanon.

A graveside service was Friday, April 8 at Lake Hills Memorial Gardens with Brother Eddie Cantrell officiating.

AUBREY MCKENZIE

Aubrey Warren (Buddy) McKenzie, 84, of Trenton, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2022.

Buddy was born on Jan. 22, 1938, in Kopperl, Texas, to the late Aubry and Naomi McKenzie, and grew up in Dutton, Ala. He was a retired master welder and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was also a longtime member of the Trenton Church of Christ, where he served as an elder, deacon and Bible study teacher. It was at a Bible study at the Trenton congregation that he met his future wife, Sorita Ellen Wheeler. They were married on June 15, 1969. He was a gifted craftsman and a talented photographer. He loved telling jokes, red Chevy trucks, McDonald’s hamburgers, Coca-Cola and Alabama football. But the center of his life was his family and his deep Christian faith

In addition to his parents, Buddy was preceded in death by his son, Patrick McKenzie, and his brother, Danny McKenzie.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 53 years, Sorita McKenzie; son, Michael McKenzie; grandchildren, Ben and Ella McKenzie; daughter-in-law, Amanda McKenzie; brother, James (Joyce) McKenzie; sister, Brenda (Terry) Hamlin; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday, April 15, 2 p.m., at the Trenton Church of Christ. Interment with full military honors will be at Lake Hills Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 14, from 6–8 p.m. at the funeral home and Friday, April 15, from 1 p.m. until the service hour at the church.

Arrangements are by Ryan Funeral Home and Crematory in Trenton.
