CARL CRANFIELD

Carl Edward “Skeet” Cranfield, 85, of Bryant, Ala., passed away Monday, Jan. 31, 2022.

He was born July 4, 1936, to the late Charlie and Virgie Cranfield. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and retired from Northeast State Community College as cafeteria manager. Skeet’s favorite past time was watching the Alabama football games and the Atlanta Braves.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Naomi Cranfield; sons, Michael and Billy Cranfield; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean, Jane, Jenny, and June; brother Jimmy; nieces, nephews.

Funeral services were Friday, Feb. 4 in the Bryant chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Pastor Brad Bridges officiating. Interment was in Oak Lawn Memorial Park.

JUSTIN GIL

Justin Tyler Gil, 25, of Wildwood, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022.

Justin had a kind heart and was loved by his family and friends. He recently rededicated his life to God and aspired to give back what he received. Justin loved music and playing drums. He also loved to cook and fish. He attended Calvary Chapel, Chattanooga, Tenn.

He was proceeded in death by his great-grandparents, Rosalie and “Paw Paw” Clifford Gass; great- grandfather, John Lee Forester; great-aunt, Judy Aileen Lowery.

Survivors include his mother, Beverly Gil; sons, Oliver and Owen Gil; grandparents, Ralph and Gail West; sister, Ashleigh Gil-Turner; brothers, Luis (Brandon) Gil and Joshua Gil.

Funeral services were Monday, Feb. 7 in the chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Jay Everett officiating. Interment was in Lake Hills Memorial Gardens.

RANDY GRIFFITH

Randy Hollis Griffith, 60, of Bryant, Ala., passed away Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022.

He was born Aug. 1,1961, to the late Gerald and Millie Griffith. Randy was very proud of his girls and grandchildren and loved spending time with his family. He was an outdoorsman who loved horses, rabbit hunting and fishing. Randy was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his baby sister, Angela Pearl; sister, Judy Rich and brother, Lawrence Griffith.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Gertrude Griffith; daughters, Amanda and Jerry Bethune, Bethany Griffith (Neil Adams), Ashley and Blake Beard; grandchildren, Dakota and Hunter Bethune; Jasmine and Landon Debter; sister, Bobbie Jean Dean of Stevenson, Ala.; brothers, Rudy (Belinda) Griffith and David Griffith; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Saturday, Feb. 5 in the Bryant chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Pastor Gerald Ellis officiating. Interment was in Ebenezer Cemetery.

LESTER KENEMORE

Lester Lee Kenemore, 76, of Bryant, Ala., passed away Thursday, Feb. 3, 2022.

He was born Dec. 28, 1945 in Higdon, Ala., to the late V.E. and Vada Kenemore. Lester was a man of many talents. He was an excellent gardener, built custom furniture and ws a guitarist. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and a lifelong member of the Floral Crest Seventh Day Adventist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Violet Kenemore; brothers, Viman and Herman Kenemore; and grandson, Nathan Kenemore.

Survivors include his wife, Lynn Kenemore; sons, Shane (Olivia) Kenemore and Reed (Wendy) Kenemore; sister, Mary Banks; grandchildren, Lauren and Seth; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Sunday, Feb. 6 in the Bryant chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Carlson officiating. Interment was at Floral Crest Cemetery in Bryant, Ala.

CHESLEY PHILLIPS, SR.

Chesley “C.J.” Phillips, Sr., 83, of Jasper, Tenn., passed away Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022.

Mr. Phillips was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp and retired from Wheland Foundry following 30 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his son, Chesley Phillips, Jr.; daughter, Lisa Renea Phillips; parents, Craylon and Ethel Phillips; brother, Richard Phillips.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Jimmie Hester Phillips; children, Teresa Phillips Johnson and Chris (Angie) Phillips, all of Jasper, Tenn.; grandchildren, Phillip Bice, Brooke Terrell, Tyler Phillips, Megan Phillips McHone, Trey Phillips, and Josh Phillips; six great-grandchildren; sister, Azzilee Cape, Gainesville; brother, Charles, Phillips, Cumming; nieces and nephews.

ALBERT WHEELER

Albert Leon Wheeler, 76, of Trenton, passed away on Friday, Feb. 4, 2022.

Mr. Wheeler was a native and lifelong resident of Dade County and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.  He was retired from Columbus-McKinnon in Chattanooga, Tenn., with 25 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and living a simple life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Bonnie Long Wheeler; three sisters; one brother.

Survivors include his daughters, Dawn (Tony) Dabbs of Trenton, and Melissa (Tommy) Cates of Chattanooga, Tenn.; grandchildren, Marcus (Abby) Wheeler, Lauren and Owen Dabbs, Zach and Zoe Cates; three great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; sister, Rose West; brothers, Lewis and Ken Wheeler; niece and nephews.

Funeral services with full military honors were Monday, Feb. 7 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Eddie Cantrell officiating.

LARRY WHITEHEAD

Larry Edward “Junior” Whitehead, 50, of Bryant, Ala., passed away Friday, Feb. 4, 2022.

Junior was born Jan. 3, 1972, in Scottsboro, Ala., to the late Larry and Doris Whitehead.  He never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew him. He wasn’t just a Paw Paw he was “the Paw Paw.”

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Jamie Whitehead; daughters, Anjelika (Zachary) Spradlin and Ashlon (Drew) Monk; sons, L’Neal (Jennifer) Whitehead and Logan (Irma) Whitehead; sister, Candy Whitehead; 10 grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Feb. 9 at 11 a.m. EST in the Bryant chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother David Marona officiating. Interment will be at Whited Cemetery in Hogjaw Valley, Ala.

The family will receive Wednesday from 9:30 a.m.–11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks to consider a donation to the funeral home to help cover expenses.
