The first annual Thanksmas event will be Saturday, Dec. 11, at the Trenton Civic Center, from 2 to 6 p.m.

The event was organized community members Ronnie Hunt, Courtney Case, Jon Woods and Jennifer Meeks, with the intent of helping those in need during the holiday season.

Thanksmas will feature a free holiday meal. The food is from local eateries Thatcher’s BBQ and Grill, and Larry’s Restaurant. There will also be a chance to get a photo taken with Santa.

The meal will be free, but there will be a donation jar available for those that can give. After the event, the organizers will use that money to provide meals and presents to families for Christmas.

In addition, there will be raffle items at the event that local businesses have donated. Anyone that would like to make a donation or give an item to be raffled off can drop those off at SmallTown Nutrition.

Many local businesses and community members have sponsored this event. They include: Trenton Pressing, TAG Enterprise, SmallTown Nutrition, Integer, Reasor Precision, RCS, Case Concrete, Daniel Case & MEED Forestry, Mover’s Direct, LLC, Citizens Bank & Trust, Bank of Dade, Larry Tharp.
Terri Bailey, Shannon Henry, Tritex, T&T Golf Carts, Moore Funeral Home, Ryan’s Funeral Home, Chad McDill, Southeastern Lineman Training Center, Sydney Boles, Bridget Raines, Christy Stephens, Kim and Randy Massey, David and Kim Bowman, John and Kelly Smith, Dade County bus drivers, Barry and Kristen Case, Kaci Davis and TMC, Sweet Tees, McBryar Construction, CVS, McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Tasha Leake at The Shop on Main, Evan Stone and KWN TV, Susan Gross, Randy’s Pawn Shop, the Donaldson family, and anonymous donors.
