KEESHA “DEDA” ABBOTT

LaKeesha Danielle “Deda” Abbott, 39, of Lookout Mountain, passed away on Monday, Nov. 1, 2021.

Keesha had a loving soul and a very bubbly personality. She would light up the room she walked into and brighten the day of those around her. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter and granddaughter who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Willie “Banjo” Stoner; grandparents, Ralph Wesley and Inez McBroom Long; sister, Elizabeth Ruth Long; brother-in-law, Josh Minor.

Survivors include her husband, Tom Abbott; sons, Caden Scott Douglas and Lathan Arron Douglas; parents, Sabrina Stoner and Billy Long; brothers, William Israel Long and Zachary Tyler (Cassie) Long; grandmother, Sara Stoner.

A memorial service was held Friday, Nov. 5 in the chapel of Moore Funeral Home.

MARVIN ATKINS

Marvin Lee Atkins, age 85, of Bryant, Ala., passed away Thursday, Nov.4, 2021.

He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Annie Atkins; sons, Danny and Doyle Atkins.

Survivors include his daughter, Deborah Rape, LaFayette; son, Stephen (Kathy) Atkins, Bryant, Ala.; daughter-in-law, Diane Atkins; grandchildren, Marlana Atkins, Jamie Atkins, Cody Rape, and Karlie Blackwell; great-grandchildren, Cruz Shropshire, Jett Atkins, Nora Blackwell, and Faith Alexander; sister, Glenda Stoker, Ringgold; special friend, Emily Casey.

Funeral services were Sunday, Nov. 7 in the Bryant chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Wayne Winters officiating. Interment was in Oak Lawn Memorial Park.

JESSICA CAGLE

Jessica Ann Cagle, 39, born May 13, 1982, passed away Nov. 1, 2021.

Jessica had a loving soul and loved life, her sons, her friends, her pets and nature. Jessica was friends with everyone she knew and was quick to give a hug to all. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Jessica is preceded in death by her mother, Connie Able Steel; grandparents, Clifford (Virginia) Cagle and Francis Steel Wedgeworth.

Survivors include her sons, Jadyn Cagle and Keegan Studstill; father, Clifton (Nancy) E. Cagle Jr.; brother, Jason (Misty) Cagle; niece and nephew, Hannah and Hayden Cagle.

Funeral services were Saturday, Nov. 6 in the chapel of Ryan Funeral Home.

BILL CASTLEBERRY

William (Bill) Lawrence Castleberry, 92, of Rising Fawn, passed away Friday, Nov. 5, 2021.

He was born Oct. 24, 1929, in Rising Fawn, to the late Lawrence and Lucy Castleberry. Bill served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a carpenter for U.S. Pipe and Foundry for 38 years. He pastored Cave Springs Baptist Church near Stevenson, Ala., from 1983 until he was unable to attend. Bill was very faithful to the Lord and his church, and he loved his congregation. He also enjoyed tending to his garden, going fishing, and woodworking in his shop. Bill loved his wife, children, and grandchildren dearly and enjoyed spending time with them.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brothers, Glen and Leroy Castleberry; sister, Jean Stone; two infant sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty Castleberry; children, Gary (Darlene) Castleberry, and Becky (Steve) Bolton; grandchildren, D.J. (Jessica) Raymond, Josh Raymond (Lauren Ringer), Haley (Zack) Chambers, Kyle Castleberry; sister, Grace (Martin) Shrader.

Funeral services were Sunday, Nov. 7 at Ryan Funeral Home with Bro. Ralph Long and Bro. Zaye McCrary officiating. Interment was in Lake Hills Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers were D.J. Raymond, Josh Raymond, Kyle Castleberry, Steve Bolton, Zack Chambers, and Zaye McCrary.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the nurses and staff of Tapestry Hospice and Ryan Funeral Home for their unwavering care and support during this time.

SPRING DANIEL

Spring LaDawn (Carr) Daniel, born Aug. 11th, 1982, passed away Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021.

to her loving parents, Eric Carr (Maguire) and Lorena (Carr) Parker.

Spring came into this world stubborn and strong. But, with a gentleness and smile, that could melt hearts. Her greatest joys came in the gifts of her daughters. The moments she had with her girls were her greatest treasures. Spring’s life consisted of adventures, and misadventures. Traveling across the country numerous times, from the mountains of Idaho, where she always called home to Cleveland, Tenn., and then to Trenton.

Spring was preceded in death by her sister, Delta Carr; grandpa, Albert Carr.

Survivors include her husband, Troy Daniel; daughters, ShyDawn Lynas, Aspen and Winter Daniel, and Autumn Dobbins; father, Eric Carr; mother and step–dad, Lorena and Steve Parker; sister and brother-in-law, Erica and Clint Stanley and family; brother and sister-in-law, Eric and Reina Carr and family; grandma, Clella Carr; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services were Monday, Nov. 8, with Rev. Rick Sentell of Cleveland, Tenn., officiating.

GEORGE DONALDSON

George Clayton “G.C.” “Whiz” Donaldson, 74, of Trenton, passed away Sunday, Nov.7, 2021.

He was a brick mason by trade. George loved his family and was always there if anyone needed him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Foshee; daughter, Sherry Pike; grandson, Ethan Reeves; parents, George and Pauline Donaldson; brothers, Glenn Moore, Franklin Donaldson; sister, Lena Whitmore.

Survivors include his daughters, Barbara (Steve) Harrison, Fort Payne, Ala., and Wanda (Lester) Rivenbark, N.C.; sons, Charles (Meshaell) Foshee, Knoxville, Tenn., Raymond (Sheila) Foshee, Alabama; Ben (Renee) Foshee, Rainsville, Ala.; sisters, Patsy (Joe) Weathers, Barbara (Jim) Garrett, Bertha Donaldson; 11 grandchildren and 22 great–grandchildren.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Nov. 9 at Moore Funeral Home with Brother Mark Finlayson officiating. Interment was at Hanna Cemetery in Rising Fawn.

ILA MAE GARRETT

Ila Mae Garrett, age 89, of Bryant, Ala., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2021.

She was a charter member of Straightway Baptist Church in Bryant, Ala., and owner of Ila’s Shoes for many years.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Austin “Cowboy” Garrett, Jr., son, Carl “Eddy” Garrett; grandchild, Meagan Morris; great-grandchild, Rachel Whited; parents, Thomas Gray and Emma Lacy Gray; brothers, Leroy Gray and Marvin “Shorty” Gray.

Survivors include her daughters, Linda (Ernest) Whited, Clarissa (Danny) Fox; son, Austin L. (Pam) Garrett; grandchildren, Sherry (Brian) Blevins, Darrick (Chris) Whited, Chad (Cassie) Garrett, Haley Garrett and Chris Masterson, Tyler (Katie) Fox and Maddie Garrett; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn McKay and Peggy Berry; special caregivers, Trish Brophy and Ellene Morgan; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Saturday, Nov. 6 in the Bryant chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Chad Garrett and Brother Wayne Winters officiating. Interment was in Straightway Baptist Cemetery, Bryant, Ala.

GERALD SIMS

Gerald Levi Sims, 82, of Bryant, Ala., passed away Friday, Nov. 5, 2021.

Mr. Sims was the owner and operator of Sims Construction in Bryant for many years, operated Sims Fruit Stand in Kimball, Tenn., and then retired from the poultry farming business after 10 years. Gerald was a Master Mason and a member of the North Sand Mountain Lodge #920 F&AM for 51 years. He loved to hunt and fish.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Morgan Sims; his sons, Danny and Dustin Sims, all of Bryant, Ala.; sister, Christine Ginn of Wildwood; brother, Freddie Crabtree, Hixson, Tenn.; nieces, and nephews.

TRISH GRIFFIN SWAIN

Patricia “Trish” Lea Griffin Swain, 57, of Trenton, passed away Sunday, Nov. 7, 2021.

She was born May 29, 1964, in Los Angeles, Calif., to the late Rufus “Red” and Pat Griffin. Trish worked at Wendy’s in Trenton for over 20 years. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, Trish was preceded in death by her brother, Terry Wall.

Survivors include her sisters, Mary Ann Preston of Virginia Beach, Va., Kimberly Ratliff of Calhoun, Tenn., and Elizabeth Lee of Trenton; brothers, Thomas Wall of Hawkinsville and Dennis Griffin of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; nieces and nephew.
