DERRELL GASS
Derrell Quinton Gass, 81, of Trenton, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2021.
Mr. Gass was a graduate of Davis High School, class of 1958 and a member of New Home Baptist Church. He was employed with E.I. DuPont for many years, retired from Combustion Engineering, and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Myron M. and Delia Crisp Gass; brothers, Keith and Dewight Gass; sisters, June Smith, Myrna Kesler, and Jwendolyn McBryar.
Survivors include his sons, Jeffery Gass, Greg Gass, Kevin Gass, and Gene Richards, all of Trenton; brothers, Maurice and Bennie Gass, both of Trenton; nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were Friday at 11:30 a.m. at New Home Cemetery with Rev. Johnny Wooten officiating. Military honors will be observed.

GAIL C. HULVEY
Gail C. Hulvey, age 77, of Bryant, Ala., passed away on Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021. She was born Oct. 7, 1944, to the late Lonel and Addie Willard Cooper. She loved the beach, reading, sewing and cooking. Gail was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Larry Cooper and Eugene Cooper and sisters, Doris Cooper and Arlene Crowder.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Bobby Hulvey; daughters, Pamela (Jackie) Chambers, Felicia (Eddie Gilbert) Watson, Christina Williams; son, Robbie (Crystal) Hulvey; sister, Gloria Greer; grandchildren, Jackie Lee Chambers, Crystal Gilbreath, Nicole Shumake, Brandy Watson, Jamison Sanders, Johnathan Sanders, Carey Sanders, Blake Hulvey, Jordan Hulvey, Hayley Hulvey, Ryan Durham, Shaelyn Ford and Lyla Bennett; 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be today, Oct. 27 in the Bryant chapel of Moore Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m., ET with Brother Wayne Winters and Brother Sam Whited officiating. Interment will be at Lakewood Memory Gardens West.

JESSE HURD
Jesse Franklin Hurd, 75, of Trenton, passed away Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021.
He was a dedicated husband and father that put his family first in everything that he did throughout his life. He passed away following the burial of his step-daughter, Becky Summerford, who passed away Oct. 4, 2021. Mr. Hurd, a resident in Trenton for over 30 years, was an avid NASCAR and Atlanta Braves fan and he could also be found fishing on the river or working on cars. Jesse had lived in several states during his lifetime including the windy city of Chicago and he often shared his favorite memories of his life there along with his favorite places to visit.
He was preceded in death by his step–daughter, Becky Summerford.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Pam Summerford; step–daughter, three sons, and five grandsons, Stacy (Harold) Daniels, Shawn Hurd, Travis (Chastity) Hurd of Crossville, Tenn., Troy (Zohreah) Hurd of Nashville, Tenn., Tyler, Nic (Robyn) and Zac (Grayce) Daniels of Trenton and Tanner and Talyn Hurd of Crossville, Tenn.
