My name is Mike Norris, and I am campaigning for Police Commissioner in our great City of Trenton.
I would like to take a moment of your time to introduce myself to you as a candidate for the City of Trenton Police Commissioner. Some of you may remember me as having 31 plus years of service with the Dade County Sheriff’s Department and Trenton Police Department.
Also, I am one of the founders of North Dade Volunteer Fire Department of which I served 20–plus years as a certified fire fighter before I moved to the City of Trenton.
I also may be remembered as Mike the Auctioneer.
I am a devoted member of Five Points Baptist Church in Ider, Ala.
During my 31 plus years of working in law enforcement, I have received many certifications on various topics in law enforcement including management. I served as an investigator with Trenton Police Department for 11 years. In addition to law enforcement, I have managed and operated an auctioneer business since 1990. In my auctioneer business, I manage retail sales that includes profit and loss with accessing risk management.
For over five decades, I have enjoyed and chose to devote my entire life to this great community. This includes my faith, family and friendships since my early years at Northwest Georgia High School and graduation in 1978.
As one of your commissioner’s, I will constantly work on keeping our taxes as low as possible. I will accomplish this by not wasting taxpayer money on unnecessary items and maintaining qualifying with well-trained employees. As we all know, employee turnover is a large expense.
During the past few weeks, I have spoken to some of you at the grocery store, gas stations and at your residences. I as well as many of my supporters have concerns regarding campaigning door to door. Due to Covid-19, I think it is safer for everyone’s public health to not have a door-to-door campaign. However, everyone’s concerns need to be addressed if you have issues or questions. I want you to please feel free to contact me personally at (423) 240-0385.
I humbly ask you to consider me, Mike Norris, for you next City of Trenton Police Commissioner. I will do everything to assure you that your vote will count toward living in a safe and productive life in the City of Trenton. The absentee voting begins October 12 – 16, October 18 – 22 and October 25 – 29. The day of election is November 2.
Regardless of how you vote, please make sure that you exercise your Constitutional rights and go to the polls and cast your vote.
I will be honored to serve you as your next City of Trenton Police Commissioner. Also, I will be honored to serve with the other Commissioners to assure that our city is a safe and affordable place to live.
Thank you for your consideration and vote.
