CLEO BLEVINS

Cleo Blevins, 82, of Flat Rock, Ala., passed away Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021.

She was a loving sister and aunt. She retired from AT&T after 42 years of service and then operated the Cabbage Bowl Restaurant in Ider, Ala., with her sister, Betty Jo, for over 15 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Noel and Patsy Blevins; brothers, Roscoe and Bobby Blevins; sister, Winnie Pell.

Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Bertha Bentley and Betty Jo Whitaker; brother, Gardner (Connie) Blevins; nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were Monday, Aug. 16 at the Trenton chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Reece Faucett officiating. Burial was in Deer Head Cove Cemetery.

SYBIL HADDON

Sybil Ann Haddon, 49, of Trenton, passed away from cancer Friday, Aug. 13, 2021.

She was general manager of Thatcher’s BBQ and fed all of Trenton when she could. There are no words to properly describe her; she brought a bright light to those around her, was reliable, forgiving, and touched countless lives.

She was preceded in death by her son, Kemp Haddon; father, Wallace Ames Lay III; brother, Larry Wayne Nester, Jr.; and uncle, Larry Wayne Nester Sr.

Survivors include her sons, Ethan Haddon and Tyler Hardy; granddaughter, Preslee Kemp Haddon; mother, Evelyn Ruth Hollis; grandmother, Ruth Lummas; sisters, Jessica Corley, Brandy Ferguson, Jamie Coley, Leslie Lay, and Lindsey Pelts; brothers, Scotty Nester and Wallace Lay IV; stepmother, Teri Lay; nieces, and nephews.

The family received friends on Monday, Aug. 16 at Moore Funeral Home.

SETH SAMS

Seth Adam Gregory Sams, 30 of Trenton, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 17, 2021. He was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area and was of the Christian faith. He was a graduate of Dade County High School, Class of 2008 and was currently employed with Miller Industries as a Technician for more than four years. He loved hunting, fishing, spending time with his family & friends and was truly a man after God’s own heart. He was a loving and devoted son, brother, husband, father and friend that will be truly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Tara Hicks Sams; father, Earl and (Candace) Sams, Jr.; mother, Andrea Sams; children, Caroline Burnette and Mason David Sams; brothers, Jordan Taylor Sams and Benjamin Alexander Sams; sister, Carolina Mae Sams; father-in-law, James and (Ruth) Hicks; grandparents, Earl Sams, Sr., William Yeary “Debbie” Butch Murray; and numerous extended family & friends.

Funeral services were, July 21, 2021 in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel.

Interment was in the McNabb Cemetery in Marion County.
