GARY HARMON

Gary Harmon, Sr., 68, of Lookout Mountain, passed away, Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2021.

He was a big sports fan, especially of the Dallas Cowboys, Yankees, and Kentucky Wildcats.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carnez Harmon; brothers, Randy Harmon and Michael Harmon.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Virginia Harmon; children, Gary Jr., (Viola) Harmon, Melissa Shrader, Teka Neal, Ezekiel Talkington, Brady Harmon, and Ashelyn Talkington; grandchildren, Diane Holt, Hunter Shrader, Robert (Barbara) Harmon, and Christian (Bree) Harmon; mother, Faye Harmon; sisters, Karen Goodman and Cheryl Wiley; brother, Jerry Harmon; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Sunday, Aug. 8 in the Trenton chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Jack Sexton officiating.

JOAN MILLER

Leveta Joan Miller, 77, of Lookout Mountain, passed away Sunday, Aug. 1, 2021.

She enjoyed sewing and gardening. Joan was an active member of New Lookout Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Miller; daughter, Nicole Kendrick; parents, Gordon and Etta Autry; sister, Lamaryl East.

Survivors include her daughter Suzanne (Nick) Wyche; grandchildren, Tristan Kendrick, Georgia Kate Kendrick, and Norah Beth Kendrick; cousins.

Funeral services were Saturday, Aug. 7 at New Lookout Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Gill officiating. Burial was at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

BEATRICE RUMLEY

Beatrice W. Rumley, 89, of Rising Fawn, passed away Friday, Aug. 6, 2021.

Beatrice was born Jan. 8, 1932. She was the only child of Charles W. Williams and Ruth Hester Williams and was a lifelong resident of Rising Fawn.

She was a business owner for over 40 years in Dade County, Bea and her husband Ralph owned the Georgia Game Park in Rising Fawn for many years. She was Past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star Dade County Chapter #476, a charter member of the Tri State Cattlemen’s Association, and a member of the Rising Fawn Baptist Church. She was a strong-willed, independent woman who was way ahead of her time. She loved buying and selling real estate and was always looking for her next adventure. She loved her children more than life itself.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph H. Rumley, who died at an early age.

She is survived by her children, Beverly (Carlton) Stallings, Ted (Diane) Rumley, Benita (Stan) Gross, Carolyn (Mike) Wright, and Quinton (Rhonda) Rumley; grandchildren, Lit’l Ted (Desiree) Rumley, Dusty (Jacey) Rumley, Hank Rumley, Brandi (Tanner) Clark, Holly (Brandon) Whetzell; great-grandchildren, Abigail Rumley, Lily Mae Rumley, Kaylee Clark, Huxley Rumley, Lincoln Rumley, and Collins Clark.

A special thank you to all her caregivers who made her last years comfortable.

Funeral services were Sunday, Aug. 8 at Rising Fawn Baptist Church with Brother Tommy Crider and Brother Jerry Atkins officiating. Burial was in Hanna Cemetery.

DEBORAH WORKMAN

Deborah Lou Workman, 67, of Flat Rock, Ala., passed away Saturday, Aug. 7, 2021.

Deborah was a member of Canaanland Baptist Church and was employed at Bama Side Restaurant for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Steele and Charlene Sawyer Steele; sisters, Mandy Sawyer and Veda Gentle.

Survivors include her sons, Sammy Workman and Matt (Lashea) Workman, all of Trenton; grandchildren, Madison (Trever) Kanady, Rodney Ferguson, and Taylix Workman, all of Trenton and Jonathan and Tyler Johnson, Rising Fawn; great-grandchild, Karter Kanady; sisters, Kathy Kessler, Higdon, Ala., and Jackie Sawyer, Trenton; special friend, Joel Sparks.

Funeral services will be today, Aug. 11 at 6 p.m., in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Darren Rogers officiating.
