SWAT Standoff

The Dade County Sheriff’s Office, Trenton Police Department and the Georgia State Patrol SWAT Team responded to a male suspect who was allegedly armed and deemed dangerous on Sunday, Jan. 24. The suspect barricaded himself in a residence located on Back Valley Road and Highway 136 West. The suspect then set fire to the back end of the residence. Power was shut off as a precaution and Highway 136 was shut down for several hours. The SWAT team successfully breached the house and the suspect was taken into custody without any injuries. The suspect was taken to the Dade County Jail. The Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire at the residence.
