BETTY CONNER
Betty Gene Conner, 88, of Trenton, passed away Friday, Jan. 8, 2021.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Conner; sons, Johnny Buckles, Eddie Buckles and Coy Buckles; sisters, Mataline Cason, Opal Daniels, Carolyn Craig and Faye Page; brothers, Joe Cason and John Cason.
Survivors include her daughter, Brenda (Sonny Masters) Martin; son, Billy Jo (Vicki) Conner; sister, Margaret Reeves; brothers, Sam Cason, Robert Cason; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; two great–great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Monday, Jan. 11th in the chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Billy Conner officiating. Interment was in Lake Hills Memorial Gardens.

PRESTON GOOCH
Preston Oliver Gooch, age 62, of Chattanooga, Tenn., passed away Monday, Jan. 4, 2021.
He worked in maintenance at McDonald’s, Chattanooga, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by his father, Preston Gooch, and sister, Wanda Gillis.
Survivors include his mother, Hazel Gooch; sisters, Diane (Bruce) Tomlinson and Cathy (Peter) Basso; nieces and nephews.
A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.

JERRY GRAY
Jerry L. Gray, 80, of Miramar Beach, Fla., passed away Saturday, Dec. 26.
He was born on Lookout Mountain on Jan. 14, 1940, to Allen Thomas Gray and Grace Ganette Cox. After graduating high school, Jerry married, Patricia D. Crawford. To this union their daughter, Jerilyn was born. Jerry served as a Radar Specialist and Marksman in the United States Army AUS Trans as Private E-1. Jerry lived in Eatonton until moving to Miramar Beach, in 2014. He worked for AIG as an insurance salesman for several years before becoming an expert carpenter. Jerry loved driving his 1967 Porsche 912, his hunting dogs and coon hunting with friends.
Survivors include his daughter, Jerilyn Chambers; stepson, Scott Maddox; grandchildren, Matilyn and Macy Chambers; siblings, Cliff Gray, of Seattle, Wash.; sisters-in-law, Shirley D. Gray, of Kennesaw, and Gladys Biddle, of Trenton.
There will not be a service at this time. Family will celebrate his life when we can all get together in the near future.
Memorial donations can be sent to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.

EDWARD REESE
Edward J. Reese, 78, of Trenton, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021.
He was born Aug. 2, 1942, and was raised in the New Salem Community on Lookout Mountain. He later served his country and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and gave back to his fellow veterans serving as prior Post Commander of American Legion Post 106. Edd was founder and CEO of Mountain Heritage Inc., founded in 1989, a commercial and industrial specialty construction company until his retirement and later formed a residential property management Cherokee Village Development Co. LLC in 2001. He was an avid fisherman and was happiest when he was out on the water in his pontoon boat catching crappie.
He was proceeded in death by parents, Ruth May Logan Reese and Alton Edward Reese; daughter, Kristin Reese and son, Eric Reese; and granddaughter, Kaitlin Smith.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Carolyn “Carol” Reese; son, Todd (Kelli) Reese; daughter, Jamey Williams; grandchildren, Joey and Justin Reese, Andrea (Rick) Soto, Madison (Matt) Cox, and Grace Williams; great-grandchildren, Alec Soto and Gunner Cox.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., today, Jan. 13th in the chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Tinker officiating. Interment will follow in Lake Hills Memorial Gardens with full military honors.

LIZ WALSTON
Elizabeth “Liz” Walston, 54, of Trenton, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2020.
Liz was employed at Hardee’s in Trenton and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her husband, Tommy Walston of Trenton; sons, Cody, Jimmy (Lahayla) and Tommy Lee Walston, all of Trenton, James Flanagan of Trenton, and Daniel Dawson of Chicago, Ill.; sisters, Diane Wilwerth, Crystal Lakes, Ill., Carrie Azar, Chicago, Ill., and Sandy Fulton, Spokane, Wash.; brother, Wayne Azar, Chicago, Ill.; several grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Saturday, Jan. 9th in the chapel of Ryan Funeral Home with Pastor Eddie Cantrell officiating.
