ANNETTE BLEVINS

Barbara Annette Blevins, 45, of Valley Head, Ala., passed away Friday, Dec. 4, 2020.

Annette was a loving daughter, sister, and mother, and is survived by her daughter, Megan Blevins; mother, Henrietta Blevins; father, Bobby Blevins; sister Christy (Tim) Riddle; nieces, Desiree and Tara Riddle; aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 11 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Ryan Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Riddle and Rev. Tim Renshaw officiating. Interment will follow in Valley Head Cemetery.

BILLY BURGESS

Billy Dean Burgess, 61, of Trenton, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2020.

Billy was a hard worker and was employed by Best One Tire and Service for 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Eston Edward Shrum, and brothers, Bobby Burgess and Eddie Burgess.

Survivors include his wife, Rita Burgess; son, Benjamin Dean Burgess; mother, Wynette Shrum; brother, Lloyd Burgess (Linda); and sister, Jeannie Cillo (Gene); special cousin, Joyce Bolin; nieces and nephews.

ROBERT DODSON

Robert Eugene Dodson, age 90, of Hixson, Tenn., passed away Monday, Dec. 7, 2020.

He was a loving father, grandfather, veteran and businessman. He was a member of New Salem United Methodist Church.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Davis, and his wife of 59years, Eloise Pennington Dodson.

Survivors include sons, Jeff Dodson and his wife, Lara, and Kevin Dodson; grandchildren, Britton, Jordan, Kaitlyn, Courtney, Christian, Jeffery, Madeleine, Gretchen, Harrison, Autumn, and Reagan; great–grandson, Robert Jeffery Dodson III.

Burial will be in Hawkins Cemetery on Lookout Mountain in Rising Fawn. Funeral services will delayed due to the global pandemic but a memorial will be held at a later date.

JESSIE FORTNER

Jessie Morgan Fortner, 83, of Trenton, a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, and most importantly, a child of God, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020.

He was preceded in death by his loving and special daughter, Bonnie Annette Fortner; father, Harley Fortner; mother, Burnie Fortner; brothers, James A., Roy, Kenneth, Homer, Wayne, and Larry Fortner.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth Ann Fortner; son, Greg (Lisa) Fortner; grandson, Ethan (Sarah) Fortner; granddaughter, Grace Fortner; great-grandsons, Noah and Nate Fortner; sister, Beatrice Newton; nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were Thursday, Dec. 3 at Lake Hills Memorial Gardens with Brother Jimmy Ferguson, Brother Ethan Fortner, and Brother Roger Shirley officiating.

NELDA REECE

Nelda Jean Reece, 73, of Bryant, Ala., passed away Thursday, Dec.3, 2020.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Homer Reece; parents, J.P. and Gladys Sharpton; daughter, Regina Reece and son, Barry Reece.

Survivors include her daughter, Denise (Anthony) Laney; sisters, Geneda Pilcher, and Pat Sharpton; grandchildren, Amber (Mal) Smith, Keely (Chris) Pierce, Aubrey Ledbetter (fiancé Brooke Gentle), Dillion (Kaitlyn) Reece and Zeb Reece.

Graveside services were Sunday, Dec. 6 at Browns Gap Cemetery with Brother Darren Rogers officiating.

DUSTY SMITH

Ronald Dusty Smith, 71, of Trenton, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020 in a local hospital.

He was employed with Kyzer Automotive for more than 30 years and was an avid outdoorsman. Dusty enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and was an awesome pawpaw.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Crystal Vergara; parents, Rushel and Bessie Sanford Smith; siblings, Lorene Daniel, Norma Wells, Rushel Jesse Smith, Connie Sue Harris, and Wayne Smith.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Nancy Smith; children, Ronald Dustin (Delaney) Smith, Dawn Michelle (Ray) Stevens, and Paul Vergara; grandchildren, Chasity Stevens, Lillian Stevens, and Kylee Vergara; siblings, Dean Smith, Don Smith, Doyle Smith and Darlene Smith Proctor; nieces and nephews; special family friend, Sharon Little.

Funeral services were Sunday, Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Ryan Funeral Home with interment to follow in Poplar Springs Cemetery.

GLORIA WEATHERS

Gloria Jean Weathers, 72, of Trenton, passed away Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed fishing and would go as often as she could.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Jessie Thomas Weathers, Jr., and Jessie Nathaniel Weathers; parents, Herman and Novella Gass; brothers, Bryan and Kenneth Gass; sisters, Sheila Spurgeon, Carol Wooten and Daina Cagle.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Jessie Weathers; daughters, Donna (Tommy) Cordell, Dee Dee (Kenny) Bishop and Deborah (George) Peters; sisters, Brenda (Jackie) Smith and Dee Erwin; brother, James Gass; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Monday, Dec. 7 in the chapel of Moore Funeral Home. Burial was in Browns Gap Cemetery.

LOWE WILKINSON

Seth “Lowe” Wilkinson, 81, of Bryant, Ala., passed away Friday, Dec. 4, 2020.

He was a member of Mountain View Church of God. Seth was a loving father, the Best Papaw ever and an avid gardener who fed a lot of people in his community.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Jeffery Wilkinson; parents, W.C. and Mary Etta Wilkinson; nine brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his daughters, Patty Elliott, Theresa (Estol) Riddle, Regina Sanders and Donna Tipton; brother, Gene (Sue) Wilkinson; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Monday, Dec. 7in the Bryant chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Reverend Brad Bridges officiating. Burial was in Old Baptist Cemetery in Hollywood, Ala.

ASHLEY WOOTEN

Ashley Lynn Gunter Wooten, 43, of Cleveland, Tenn., formerly of Lookout Mountain, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020.

Ashley had a huge heart filled with love, honesty, hugs, laughter, and always had a smile on her face, no matter what struggles she may have been going through. Ashley loved her family and friends more than life itself, and would always lift them up in prayer during difficult times.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Edward Weller and Bettye Summerford.

Survivors include her husband, Edward Wooten; children, Bryson and Braden Stewart; parents, Paul and Cheryl Summerford; grandparents, Barbara Weller and Howard Summerford; sister, Alicia Summerford Smith; aunts and uncles, Pam and Jim Vice and Gary and Lori Weller; nephews, Carson and Dawson Smith.

A celebration of Ashley’s life will be today, Dec. 9, at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Ryan Funeral Home with Rev. Cecil Gravitt and Samuel Everett officiating.
