JAMES BEACH
James “Jim” Edward Beach, 83, of Bryant Ala., (formerly of Red Bank, Tenn.,) passed away Saturday, Aug. 15, 2020.
He grew up in north Chattanooga, Tenn., went on to serve in the U.S. Navy, and was retired from TVA. In the Navy, he served aboard the destroyer USS Richard E Kraus stationed out of Norfolk, Va. He had a love for sports, particularly running and golf. He was an avid runner in Chattanooga and a founding member of the Chattanooga Track Club. He was a two–time winner of the track club’s Runner of the Year award. He completed several marathons during his running years in Chattanooga, Atlanta, Huntsville, Ala., New Orleans, La., and Boston, Mass. On July 4, 1970, he was one of 110 runners who ran in the inaugural Peachtree Road Race in Atlanta. As one of the “original 110,” he annually received an invitation to run and attend the race and reunion events which he did so as long as he was physically able.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Alice Beach; stepson, Dale King; grandson, Dustin Scott; brothers, Arthur Beach Jr., and Paul Beach; sisters, Frances Cleveland, Louise Teague, and Dorothy May Boatman.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Dora Beach; daughters, Larondia Scott (Darrell) of Lookout Mountain and Tamara Beach of Chattanooga, Tenn.; sons, James Beach (Angie) of Trenton, and Dennis Beach (Tiffany) of Clearwater Beach, Fla.; grandchildren, Heather Wallin (Levi), Jae Beach (Savannah), Emily Beach, Ava Beach, and Reagan Beach; great–grandchildren, Augustus Wallin and Maximus Wallin, several nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held with the Rev Guindal Knight officiating.

JOANN MIZE
JoAnn Swindle Mize, 76, of Wildwood, passed away Thursday, Aug. 13, 2020.
Mrs. Mize was a loving person to everyone she knew and was of the Baptist faith. She was employed for many years as a restaurant manager and was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Douglas Mize on Aug. 4, 2020; daughter, Tracy Kesler, and grandson, Thomas Griff Kesler.
Survivors include her daughter, Cindy (Bo) Jones of Wildwood; son, Gerald (Kim) Mize, Antioch, Tenn.; sister, Betty (Bob) Rucker; brothers, Dover (Karon) Johnson and Jeff (Rachel) Johnson; grandchildren, Amanda (Jay) Thomas, Jamie Ramsey, Ben (Krystal) Jones, Brittany DeLeon, Brandon Jones, Courtney Mize, and Logan Mize; great–grandchildren, Dalton Ramsey, Ashton Medley, Canon Ramsey, Hunter King, Karlee Jo Crisp, Reese Jones, Jacob Thomas, Payton Jones, Jade Thomas, Benjamin Jones, Andy Thomas, Kensizle and Karver Mize, Payton and Hayden DeLeon.
Graveside services were Friday, Aug. 21 at Johntown Cemetery in West Blocton, Ala.

ESTIL PRITCHETT
Estil Levon “Skeeter” Pritchett, 72, of Trenton, passed away Monday, Aug. 10, 2020.
Skeeter was a devoted husband, loving father, caring “Papa”, and loyal servant of God who dedicated his life to the Lord in 1967. He was a faithful member of Griffin Holiness Church for 30 years. He found great joy in helping those in need and was known by his many friends for his boundless generosity. He worked as a salesman and general contractor most of his life, founding P & C Construction in 1993 and overseeing the daily operations until his retirement in 2008. Skeeter enjoyed traveling, deep sea fishing, raising cattle and exotic animals, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan McAllister; parents, Tee and Opal Pritchett; sister, Darlene Chance; and brother, Eugene Pritchett.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Sandra; daughters, Sherry Denise (David) Morrison of Atlanta, Jessica Smith of Trenton; sons, Kevin (Valerie) Pritchett of Huntsville, Ala., Alex Smith of Trenton, Will (Kassie) Smith of Bryant, Ala., Derek (Courtney) Pritchett of Cedar Lake, Ind.; grandchildren, Lance, Logan (Sarah), Lexy, Kaylin, Sarah (Matthew), Chase (Kaitlyn), Charis, Claire, Maleia, Tanner, Liam, Ryder, Zane, Eleanor, and Mila; great–grandchildren, Killian, Isabella, and Brewer; sister, Gloria (Royce) Cornelison; brothers-in-law, Edgar (Loretta) Hawkins, Mike (Denise) Hawkins, Buddy (Martha) McAllister, Clarence (Pam) McAllister, Robert McAllister, and Louis Chance; sisters-in-law, Linda Black, Diane (John) Robinson, and Marthie Dodson.
A celebration of life was at Corner Stone Funeral Home on Saturday, Aug. 22. A private family service followed with Bro. Wayne Guffey and Bro. Warren Langley officiating.
