Dade County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jan Irons Harris confirmed Aug.17 that 11 people have tested positive for COVID-19.
Harris said that four of the cases are students and the other seven are staff and a paraprofessional. Harris said approximately 70 students and staff have been quarantine as a result.
Harris said substitute teachers may be asked to fill in for the affected staff.
“We have substitutes, but only time will tell if they will be interested in subbing during this challenging time,” Harris said.
