City of Trenton Commission approves plans to improve pedestrian safety around Jenkins Park
Ansel Smith informed the City of Trenton’s Board of Commissioners during a July 13 meeting that Price Street and Jenkins Park are in need of pedestrian-friendly upgrades after receiving calls about children almost being struck by vehicles in the area.
Smith said he is looking to add three-speed bumps, a pedestrian walkway and four-speed signs around the roads near Jenkins Park, totaling $1,500. To prevent cars from speeding in the area, Smith said the speed limit will be lowered from 20 miles per hour to 10.
