DA Buzz Franklin Retires After 23 Years of Service
A retirement drop-in took place on June 10 at the Walker County Civic Center in honor of District Attorney Herbert “Buzz” Franklin’s 23 years of service to the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit.
Several dozen people attended the event from all surrounding counties to honor Franklin. Inside the civic center, there were tables set up showing many of Franklin’s accomplishments over the last two decades.
“It has been a great 23 years in office,” Franklin said. “I’ve enjoyed it very much. I have to say I’ve been blessed to have very good people working with me and that’s the thing I’m going to miss the most is people that I’ve worked with over the years. There have been some great people in local law enforcement and great people in my office. I’m going to miss it.”
