Fireworks cancelled in New Salem, confirmed for July 4 in Trenton

Dade County Executive Ted Rumley said during the June 25 weekly COVID-19 update that there will be no fireworks in New Salem on July 4 because of COVID-19.

This is the first time in over 20 years that the fireworks have ever been cancelled. However, Rumley said there will likely be other fireworks visible throughout the valley.

Nathan Wooten said there will still be fireworks shot in Trenton on July 4. The shooting will begin at 9:15 p.m.

Wooten said the best spots to watch the fireworks will be from Jenkins Park, the Civic Center or the square.
