RANDALL CHAPMAN

Randall Terry Chapman, 63, of Higdon, Ala., passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.

Born Feb. 22, 1962, in Pampa, Texas, Randall was the son of the late David Chapman Sr. and Ruth David. He worked for many years at Trenton Pressing. Randall enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, exploring nature, and trips to the beach in Galveston, Texas. He loved music in general and was a talented musician who played the baritone. A true cowboy at heart, he had a deep passion for rodeo and loved to ride.

Survivors include his survived by his children, Lauren Michelle Chapman, Stephanie Elizabeth Chapman, Taylor Christian Chapman, and Rebecca Jordan Chapman; brothers, David Chapman and Ralph Chapman; grandchildren, Caden Martinez, Carter Rey Chapman, Olivia Hubbell, and J.J. Hubbell.

Funeral services were Sunday, March 23, in the Trenton chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Mike Howell officiating.

Sandra Edwards

Sandra Lee Edwards, of Bryant, Ala., passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2025.

She was born Dec. 12, 1955. She was the heart of her family, always filling their lives with love, warmth, and kindness. Sandra loved nothing more than spending time with her family and she found peace by the ocean, where the waves and salty breeze reminded her of God’s presence.  Her faith was unshakable, guiding her through life with grace and strength.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel Cody and Louie Stevens; and sister, June Forester.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Tony Edwards; children, Pepi (Phillip) Gilbert and Chris (Trevor) Edwards; grandchildren, Kurt Gilbert and KaLee Gilbert; sister, Peggy Brannen; brothers, Johnny (Linda) Forester and Eddie (Susan) Stevens; aunts, uncles and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Friday, March 21, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Darren Rogers of Canaanland Baptist Church officiating. Interment was in Oak Lawn Memorial Park, Bryant, Ala.  Buddy Stephens, Lebron Spears, Cash Turner, Kurt Gilbert, Phillip Gilbert, and Keith McKaig served as pallbearers.

BETTYE HALL

Bettye Hixson Hall, of Wildwood, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2025.

She was born Dec. 6, 1934. She loved her family and is especially grateful for her son, Danny, and his unselfish medical care, chauffeuring, and hours of company. Bettye was the first director for the Meals on Wheels in Dade County and many families will remember the outings such as Opryland, Disney World, the beach, Dade Days celebration, auctions, and yard sales.

Bettye was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Dan O. Hall; parents, Charles Stanton and Thelma Hamlin Hixson; brother, V.E. (Doc) Hixson.

Survivors include her son, Daniel Hixson “Danny” Hall; grandsons, Daniel Price Hall and Samuel Hixson Hall; granddaughter, Samantha Hall Shaw; great-granddaughters, Huntley and Willow Hall; sister-in-law, Marchetta McBryar Hixson; brother, Gene Hamilton (Carolyn) Hixson; nieces and nephews.

A special thanks is extended to Bettye’s lifelong friends, Faye Turner Reed of Florida, Clara Dean Ford of Chattanooga, Tenn., and her nieces, Cachet Wade and Savannah Pendergrass.

Funeral services were Friday, March 21, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Hutch Garmany and Rev. Mickey Scrimshire officiating. Interment was in Sarah’s Chapel Cemetery with Perry Hixson, Deano Hixson, Logan Hixson, Nolan Hixson, Scott Hamlin, Sam Hixson, Chris Wade and Jason Geddie serving as pallbearers.

WAYNE HENLEY

Wayne Wright Henley, of Eatonton, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2025, following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and a prominent figure in the audio and technology industry. He was born July 21, 1951, and lived a life marked by deep commitment to both his family and his career. Wayne began his journey in audio and technology in 1972 after graduating from Walker Tech. His career began at Muzak, where he quickly established himself as a well-known name in the field. From 1981 to 1996, Wayne contributed significantly to the development of the Muzak market in Savannah. In 1996, he returned to the Chattanooga, Tenn., area, beginning the second phase of his career that ultimately led him to Atlanta in 2001. At Richardson Technology and later at SWC, Inc., he became a formidable presence in the School Safety and Communication field. He was a family man and happiest when surrounded by his loved ones. The Henley family created many memories together, particularly on Disney vacations and cruises.

He is preceded in death by his father, John Henley; mother, Louise Henley-Settles; stepfather, John Settles; father and mother-in-law, Gene and Marie Harris; brother, John “Butch” Henley.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Peggy Henley; son, Chris (Sarah) Henley; daughter, Katrina (Lance) Jones; grandchildren, Madison Henley, Makayla (Michael) Henley-Ellison, Hayden Jones, Lillian Jones, and London Jones; sister, Pat Henley; nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

A celebration of life will be Friday, March 28, at noon, in the Trenton chapel of Moore Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m., until noon.

DIANNE HOLDER

Dianne Holder, 70, of Trenton, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2025.

She attended the Medical College of Georgia and U.T.C., retired from Trenton Spinning Mill following 17 years of service and was of the Church of Christ faith.

Dianne was preceded in death by her parents, Myrl Holder and Wanda Tate.

Survivors include her daughter, Hollon McCain Holder of New Fant, Vt.; sister, Wilma (Jerry) Hulgan; brother, Spencer (Laura) Holder; nephews, Dakota (Lorie) Holder and Chas (fiance’ Makayla Heard) Holder.

A Celebration of Life was Monday, March 24, in the funeral home chapel with Minister Ron Gilbert officiating.

BLANA MILLSAP

Blana Love Millsap, 91, a longtime resident of Trenton and Chattanooga, Tenn., passed away Monday, March 17, 2025.

Blana was born in Knoxville, Tenn., on June 7, 1933, to the late Ernest L. Love and Lillie Mae Newman Love and has resided for several years in Dade County. Blana was a 1955 graduate of the Baroness Erlanger Hospital School of Nursing and enjoyed many years of faithful service as a Registered Nurse with T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital in Chattanooga. Blana had a special bond with her family, especially for her grandchildren whom she adored. She was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves, the Tennessee Vols and enjoyed her hobbies of sewing and bowling.

In addition to her parents, Blana is also preceded in death by her stepfather, Rufus Wells; daughter, Connie Ann Millsap; and grandson, David Edward “Eddie” Peterson, all were of Chattanooga, Tenn.

Survivors include her children, Erna Roger (Ed) Peterson, Angela Carol Rogers, Jason Trent (Leslie) Millsap, all of Chattanooga, and Jenne (Ronnie) West of Bryant, Ala.; grandchildren, Brent Sims, David Sims, Luke Kellogg, Steven Kellogg, Eric Peterson, Connie Millsap, Kellie Millsap Taylor, Ashley Millsap, Jennifer Rimas, Andrew Leon, and Noah West; several great-grandchildren, special friends and caregivers.

Funeral services were Thursday, March 20, in the Trenton chapel with Pastor’s David Moses and Donny Johnston officiating. Interment was at Oak Lawn Memorial Park in Bryant, Ala.

Carolyn Nethery

Carolyn Jo Rogers Nethery, of Trenton, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2025.

Born in Dade County at the Owenby Clinic, Carolyn was a 1968 graduate of Davis High School where she proudly served with the Yellow Jacket Marching Band and basketball team. C.J. began her professional career in the insurance industry with Provident Life and Casualty where she retired in 2012 with 40 plus years of service. Carolyn was a 49-year member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Nayomia Rogers; and brother-in-law, Mike Nethery.

Survivors include her husband, Paul Nethery; son, Matt (Dana) Nethery; grandsons, Bryce (fiance’, Stahr) Nethery, and Brayden Nethery; sisters, Freida Cloud, and Teresa (James) Cash; brother, Lonnie (Cindy) Rogers; sisters-in-law, Patti Nethery and Dana A. Nethery; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services were Sunday, March 23, in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Ty McIntyre and Bro. Darren Rogers officiating. Interment was in Lake Hills Memorial Gardens.

CONNIE NORMAN

Connie Plemons Norman, 74, of Ringgold, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025.

Connie was born in Chattanooga, Tenn., on Nov. 19, 1950, to the late Chester and Leona Plemons and has been a longtime resident of north Georgia for many years. Connie was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord with all her heart, a dedicated mother, nana and the best friend a person could have and was always willing to help anyone. Connie was an avid Alabama fan and a member of Calvary Way Baptist Church in Chickamauga.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her in-law’s, Louis and Ruby Norman; great-grandsons, Stevie Wayne McNabb and Cody Bearden.

Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Steve Norman; children, Melissa Dawn Morton, Janice (Oscar) Roach, Heath (Tracey) Morton and Jeremy (Jenni) Norman; brother, Lebron (Andrea) Plemons; grandchildren, Sean (Kayla) Self, Blake (Michaela) Morton, Mikaila (Cordell) McNabb, Amanda (Tucker) Green, Jessica (Cody) Bearden and Jasmine Turley; great-grandchildren, Kota, Riley, Artie, Hadley, Walker, Mattie, Paisley, Saylor, Lainey, Ellie, Levi, Zane and Chase.

Funeral services were Tuesday, March 25, in the Trenton chapel with J.T. Sanders, David Marona and Craig Westbrook officiating. Interment was at Stacy Family Cemetery in Flat Rock, Ala.

RONDAL NUNLEY

Willie “Little Goat” Rondal Nunley, 80, of Trenton, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2025.

Goat was born Dec. 16, 1944, in Tracy City, Tenn., to the late Houston and Ruby Nunley. From a young age, he knew he had found his soulmate in Gail. Together, they built a life rooted in love and shared over 63 years of devotion to one another. Though Goat was a man of few words, his love for his family was always clear. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and had a unique passion for chickens.

In addition to his parents, Goat was preceded in death by his brothers, David and Freddy Nunley.

Survivors include his wife, Gail Nunley; daughters, Doniece (David) Moon, Robin (Todd) Torres, and Regina Ellis; sisters, Kat Stiles, Deborah Pack, Bonnie (Monroe) Conner, and Evelyn Bowen; brother, Johnny Nunley; grandchildren, Evan (Tina) Powell, Brandon (Brandy) Simmons, Laci Ray, Allison (Justin) Vice, Alexandra DeBenedetti, Dillon (Kelsey) Moon, Dakota Ellis, and Houston (Blair) Moon; 11 great-grandchildren extended family members.

Funeral services were Sunday, March 23, in the Trenton chapel of Moore Funeral Home, with Brother Dewayne Moon officiating. Interment was at Lake Hills Memorial Gardens.

BILLY QUEEN

Billy Ray Queen, 52, of Dalton, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025, following a terminal illness.

Billy was born April 3, 1972, in Copper Hill, Tenn., to the late William “Bud” Queen and Martha Ann Golden Bearden. He enjoyed spending time with his family, classic cars, fishing, hiking, and working on and detailing vehicles.  Prior to his illness, Billy was employed by Engineered Floors in Dalton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, William “Pebo” Queen and Anthony “Tiger” Queen; sister, Cathy Queen; step-sister, Jennifer Helton; nephew, Mason Carter.

Survivors include his wife, DeeAnn Queen; sons, Tyler (Amber) Queen and Jacob (Destiny) Queen; step-daughters, Morgan Street and Whitley (Colton) Hill; step-brother, Delmus (Melanie) Carter; step-sister, Tammy Helton; grandchildren, Raylan Eakin, Callie Hill, Jayce Hill, Kase Hill, Mason Queen, and Bailee Queen; nephews, Cody, Jamie, and Dylan Queen, and Aaron Helton; nieces, Heather Lawson and Courtney Queen.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

RAFAEL RENTERIA

Rafael Mendoza Renteria, 40, of Rising Fawn, passed away Monday, March 17, 2025, after a hard fought battle with cancer.

Rafael served in the United States Marine Corp, worked as a Hosted Phone Coordinator with EPB of Chattanooga, and was a member of Rising Fawn Baptist Church. Outside of work, Rafael found joy in spending time with his family, traveling, cooking new recipes, and adventuring to new restaurants.

He is survived by his wife, Danielle Renteria; children, Rafael Enzo Renteria and Santiago Arlo Renteria; parents, Rafael Renteria and Maria Renteria; brothers, Michael Carmona and Roberto Renteria.

A celebration of his life was at Rising Fawn Baptist Church on Thursday, March 20.

EARL WOOTEN

Earl Andrew Wooten, 73, a resident of Hollywood, Ala., passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2025.

Earl was born in Trenton on June 1, 1951, to his parents, Lige and Little Mae Wooten and had previously resided in Bryant, Ala., before moving to Hollywood, Ala., in 2016. Earl worked in the tree trimming business for several years with Asplundh and Hill’s Tree Service. He also worked in Chattanooga, Tenn., with Rock Tenn as well. Earl enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Earl is also preceded in death by brothers, Junior Wooten and Walder Wooten; sisters, Carla Hicks, Margaret Floyd, Edith White, Kathy “Cat” Rylee and Sadie Hicks.

Survivors include his partner of 45 years, Joyce Hicks; sons, Chris Wooten, Kevin Wooten and Keith Wooten; several stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was Friday, March 21, at Bryant Cemetery with Pastor Brad Bridges officiating.
