Rumley And Goff Retire; New And Returning Officials Sworn In

Photo by Lydia Berglar – On the afternoon of Dec. 12, friends, family, and colleagues of Ted Rumley and Robert Goff gathered to celebrate the pair’s retirement from the Dade County Board of Commissioners. A large crowd, including commissioners from neighboring counties, enjoyed refreshments after Rumley and Goff received plaques. Rumley said he is especially thankful for years of cooperation among constitutional officers (like the Dade County Sheriff’s Office and the judicial system) for the good of the county. He cited stories from other counties where conflict is the norm, saying, “That hurts everybody.” He said that Dade, Walker, Catoosa, and Chattooga are like-minded in their approach to cooperation.
