JANET ARNOLD

Janet Elizabeth Cope Norris Arnold, 63, of Trenton, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2024, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

Born on July 12, 1961, in Fort Oglethorpe, to Vera Mae Hays and Herman Savage Cope, Janet grew up with a deep love and respect for her parents. At a young age, she took on the responsibility of helping care for her mother, who faced her own battle with cancer. Janet’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. She worked as a manager of several convenience stores for 21 years before transitioning to retail, where she spent 17 years. Janet was a member of Prospect Independent Church in Walker County, Ala., until she moved back home and joined Five Points Baptist Church in Ider, Ala.

Survivors include her sons, Michael Eugene Norris Jr., and David Franklin Norris; granddaughter, Copelynn Reese Norris; siblings, Charlene Dorothy McCririck, Susan Lynn Wooten, and David Herman Cope.

Funeral services were Friday, Nov. 29 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Johnny Ellison officiating.  Interment was in Lake Hills Memorial Gardens.

ELIZABETH GUINN

Elizabeth Guinn, 99, of Rising Fawn, passed away Monday, Nov. 25, 2024.

Mrs. Guinn was a self-employed hairdresser for over 40 years and was a member of the former Cave Springs Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Charles M. Guinn; parents, Will and Lorena Bailey Grimes; daughter, Mary Jo Hawes; brother, Jack Grimes; sister, Christina Basham; grandson, Larry Abbott.

Survivors include her son, Charles “Slugger” (Diana) Guinn of Rising Fawn; grandchildren, Chris (Felicia) Guinn, Jennifer (Chris) Walker, Joe (Hillary) Guinn, Kelly (Luke) Gray, and Mike Abbott; nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were Saturday, Nov. 30, at Hanna Cemetery with Rev. Reese Fauscett officiating.

MARGARETTE REEVES

Margarette Lea Reeves, 90, of Lookout Valley, Tenn., passed away Monday, Nov. 25, 2024.

Margarette was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who loved her family. She was a wonderful cook and worked as a waitress for many years. Her last job was at the Cabbage Bowl in Ider, Ala.  She attended the Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dollis “Dall” and Pauline Patrick Cason; husband, Manuel Reeves; sons, William Harold and Jerry Allin Reeves; sisters, Betty Conner, Medeline Cliff, Carolyn Craig, Opal Daniels, and Faye Page; brothers, John, Joe, and Robert Cason.

Survivors include her daughters, Peggy Underwood, Frances Westbrooks, and Jane Reeves; sons, Manuel Lee and Wayne Reeves; brother, Sam Cason; 33 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; extended family members.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Nov. 27, in the Trenton chapel of Moore Funeral Home. Interment was at Deer Head Cove Cemetery.
