Sand Mountain Car Wreck Claims Two Lives

A tragic early morning car accident on Monday, December 11th claimed the lives of two passengers. The single-vehicle crash occurred on Brow Road between Wells Road and New Home Road. Georgia State Patrol troopers responded at 1:49 a.m., and Davis and New Home fire departments were also dispatched. Law enforcement closed that portion of the road while the scene was cleared and investigated.

Georgia State Patrol reported that the vehicle was heading south on Brow Road when it left the roadway, struck an embankment, hit a tree, landed upside down, and caught fire. Two front seat occupants in the vehicle died on the scene, and the third rear seat occupant was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
 
The Georgia State Patrol’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT) responded to the scene to assist in the investigation.  

As of press time, the names of the victims had not been released, next of kin had not yet been notified, and the vehicle had not been identified due to severe fire damage.
