WILLIAM CRANE

William Alan Crane, 65, of Trenton, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2023.

Mr. Crane was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Nancy Newby Crane; and brother, Barry Scott Crane.

Survivors include his daughters, Brandi Black and Shannon Crane; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren; brother, John Crane; nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were Monday, Dec. 4, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.

JAMES DREW

James Ardell Drew, 75, of Rossville, passed away Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023.

Mr. Drew enjoyed being a father and grandfather and enjoyed fishing and tinkering with vehicles.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Ledell Templeton Drew; brothers, Eddie, Billy, and Rocky Drew; and sister, Virginia Jo Raines.

Survivors include his spouse, Donna Ellis of Rossville; children, James Frost and Jimmy (Jason) Drew of Wildwood, Rocky Drew of Chattanooga, Tenn., Robert “Booger” (Terrie) Drew, Ringgold, B.J. (Ayla) Drew, Chattanooga, Tenn., and Rhonda (William) Wilson of Wildwood; 17 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were Saturday, Dec. 2, at Hooker Cemetery.

MALISSIE KENEMORE

Malissie Ann Kenemore, 69, of Wildwood, passed away Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023.

Malissie was born in Chattanooga, Tenn., to Thomas “Bill” and Novella Smith Ballard on Oct. 17, 1954. She graduated from Central High School in 1972. She would later follow a passion of hers and become a cosmetologist. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Additionally, Malissie enjoyed painting, canning various foods, gardening, baking, decorating, and watching football.

In addition to her parents, Malissie was preceded in death by her sister, Beulah Woosley.

Survivors include her daughter, Jodie (Brandon) Kenemore-Pate; sons, Tommie (Courtney) Ballard and Tray Kenemore; sisters, Edna Blevins, Minnie Ballard, and June Kennemore; grandchildren, Carson Rogers, Lucas Wright, Lanie Ballard, Aiden Wooten, Maddux Daniels, Taylor Pate, Lillee Ballard, Kyler Wooten, Bella Kenemore, Preston Pate, and Kaleigh Kenemore.

A graveside service was Sunday, Dec. 3, at Hooker Cemetery in Wildwood with James Chappeluar officiating.

MARTI MAHAN

Martha (Marti) Blechner Mahan passed away Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2023.

She was a beloved mother and grandmother who enjoyed playing music, singing with her husband and designing flower arrangements. She owned and operated The Enchanted Florist in Fairyland on Lookout Mountain.

Survivors include her husband, Michael Mahan; son, Scott MacDonald; stepchildren, Micheal Mahan, Jr., and Angela Arrington; eight grandchildren; sister, Eileen Benetor; and brother, Eric Blechner.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be Saturday, Dec. 16, at the West Brow Community Center. An earlier celebration was canceled due to Covid.

 

SISSY NICHOLS

Mary “Sissy” Nichols, 69, of Lookout Mountain, passed away Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023.

Sissy was born Nov. 23, 1954, to the late Thomas and Edna Ruth Smith Gill. Although she never had children of her own, she embraced the role of mother to many. Sissy was a caring sister, aunt, and a loyal friend. She deeply loved her family and radiated a spirit of adventure throughout her life.

In addition to her parents, Sissy was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Eller; and brothers, Joe Thomas, Roy and Billie Joe Gill.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews and extended family.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Dec. 5, at High Christian Community Church in Menlo. Interment was at Gill Family Cemetery.

GEORGE WIMBERLEY

George Vernon Wimberley, 82, of Chatsworth, passed away Sunday, Nov. 26, 2023.

He was born in Flat Rock Ala., on Dec. 24, 1941, to the late George David and Ella Lou Verdie (Russell) Wimberley. He was retired from Happy Valley Milk Company. He was a selfless soul, a loving father, brother, uncle who loved getting together with family.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Durham; brother, Eskil Wimberley; and step-brother, Willie Wimberley.

Survivors include his sons Anthony (Alisa) Wimberley and David (Tammy) Wimberley; sister, Ann (Roy Lee) Brown; brothers, Lee and Wayne Wimberley; grandchildren, Brittany (Eric) Walraven, C.J. (Josie) Wimberley, Kalie, Breanna (Justin) Collum, Kristan (Greg) Haught, Jordan Hall, and Austin (Cortney) Wimberley; great-grandchildren, Maisy Johnson, Bryleigh Johnson, Judson Collum, Memphis Haught, Xander Haught, Waylon Hall, Jocelyn Hall, Adeline Walraven, Caroline Walraven, Madison Verner, and Hailey Walraven; nieces and nephews, his neighbor and friend, Rae Goswick; special ladies whom he called his forever hero’s, Dana Richardson and Tori Hammontree.

Funeral services were Friday, Dec. 1, in the funeral home chapel with Brother Robert Goff officiating.  Interment services will be at Beulah Chapel Cemetery in Flat Rock, Ala., at a later date.

Memorial tributes can be made in the form of charitable donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
