On March 26th, Dade County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) deputies and Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force agents assisted the United States Marshals Service in the execution of an arrest warrant in Trenton.

DCSO published the following: “A possible address for the wanted subject was in very close proximity to Dade County High School. Sheriff Cross notified the high school principal and superintendent just before the operation was initiated. Law enforcement and the school system administration elected to place the high school on a soft lockdown, out of an abundance of caution. The suspect was taken into custody, and the lockdown lasted approximately 15 minutes.”

Sheriff Ray Cross said, “We’re always happy to work closely with the school system, as well as the rest of our community. This operation today illustrated the cooperation that we utilize daily with our schools, and we’ll continue to do so for as long as possible. We all have the same goal and that’s keeping the children and our community safe.”

Superintendent Josh Ingle said, “I would like to thank the Dade County Sheriff’s Office for the collaboration and prioritizing the safety of our students, staff, and the community.”

The DCSO later reported the man arrested was Charles August Langley (age 68 of Trenton) for a Parole Violation Warrant out of Texas.
