Warnock Named Region 7A–D1 Pitcher of the Year; All‑Region Team Announced

Photo by Eddy Gifford – Kayleigh Warnock’s 17 season wins helped her earn the Region 7A–D1 Pitcher of the Year title.

The Dade County High School Lady Wolverine softball team was well represented on the All-Region 7A-D1 Softball Team that was announced recently.

Top honors went to Kayleigh Warnock who was named the Region 7A-D1 Pitcher of the Year. Warnock finished the season with 17 wins and 152 strikeouts to cap off a great career at Dade County High School.

Lady Wolverine head coach Stephen Graham was named Region 7A-D1 Coach of the Year leading the Lady Wolverines to a 22-8 record and an undefeated region slate and finishing in the top six in the state.

Lady Wolverines named to first team all-region were: Infielders – sophomore Rylee Byram; junior Adilyn Gross; senior KK Castleberry; and outfielder sophomore Lexi Lawson.

Named to the second team were: Infielders – sophomore Madi Page; outfielders – freshman Riley Talley; catcher – senior Falyn Baggett.

Senior outfielder Lexi Wallin and junior designated hitter Lilah Wilson received Honorable Mention.
